Cartier Tank Louis

Just obtained the newest Tank Louis. Lovely and classic watch. I've noticed the crown is a bit difficult to pull out? Have others had a similar experience.

Probably due to it being a very new gasket/o-ring. If it is reeeeally too hard, might need a dab of 'lube' from the watchmaker. If it is only just kinda hard, give it a few years of wear and tear to loosen up.. and then eventually off to service for a refreshing :)

AMAZING timepiece!!! You can never go wrong with a Cartier Tank :)

Great looking watch!

How hard is this to wind? I have the Tank Americain L in steel and that thing is impossible to wind if I let the watch die.

Considered getting this watch for a while. How large is your wrist if you don't mind me asking? And how does the original strap fit?

It's on the harder side but definitely not overly "tight".

Great question. I have a 6.25in wrist. As in all pictures, the watch looks bigger than it is and in person is smaller and more elegant. Even though it is a small watch, I have to use the last hole of the strap. Therefore, I have a short strap on order. The standard strap is fine, but I prefer to have it fit perfectly using one of the middle holes.

Interesting the Santos Dumont Large has a strap that fits perfectly on my small wrist.

I LOVE this watch!
I really want a W1551451 but may have to settle for this one!

Congrats! The Tank Louis Cartier is a real classic. It's such a versatile watch and very easy to dress up or dress down. I've had mine for over a decade and I love it. Wishing you many years of enjoyment from your new watch.

Very cool piece Looks great on your wrist

Pulling the crown on my Tank Must XL Auto takes a decisive tug. It seems like it wants to be pulled out very straight, so using the fingernails of my index finger and thumb to tug it in a balanced fashion works best.

Congratulations! This is my favorite regular current production Cartier. It's a great size and I really like the dial. My wife wants one and I see one in her future this year.

Update on the winding. There is significant resistance like you stated. The power reserve was excellent. Mine lasted approximately 40hr. I believe it's rated for 38hr.

Wow, gorgeous timepiece, Congrats!

Is this large model (WGTA0011), 33.7mm x 25.5mm?

Same experience with mine (from May -23). Really difficult to pull out (and push in).

I have close to 7.3in (18.5cm) and the original strap fits great. Though I like the watch better on a casual strap and molequin medium is too short (but looks good)

Absolute pain to wind. On multiple occasions I have come to the conclusion that it’s fully wound only to have it die after 12hrs or so. Close to 40hrs when actually fully wound though.

I love this watch! I’ve got my eye on it, but might be out of my price range at the moment. I wish there were more mechanical/automatic options in the traditional Tank line up…just this one and the XL I believe. Not that both aren’t gorgeous. The XL is just a bit bigger than I would prefer.

Don’t underestimate the Tank Must (I have that one too). It’s serious bang for the buck with regards to classic design. I didn’t think I would like it due to the quartz movement but came to love the idea of having a grab and go watch that always keep the time and does so with style.

Thanks all. Really a thing of beauty. I like the shape, the dial - just not sure if it's a little small and the W1560017 might be a better fit although misses that stunning dial.

Had looked at a Solarbeat but missed that boat.
