Incoming - 1st AP from the boutique (2nd overall)

After 2 years of attempting to build a relationship with 3 different boutiques (with varying degrees of success), it's finally happening! I've been incredibly fortunate to have connected with a fantastic SA who was able to advocate for me and help me obtain an allocation for a 26240st - my grail for some time now, and even in the exact dial color I was hoping for as well!

To those starting out on your journey and facing hurdles - miracles do happen, it seems! This will be my first piece from AP directly (I purchased my first RO last year at grey prices to commemorate a career milestone and personal goal I had set for myself), and I'm beyond thrilled and grateful.

Was reflecting on this, and it occurred to me that a relationship with a boutique / SA is much like a personal relationship with a partner.. if the connection's not there, then as much as one person may try to make it work, the chance of success is limited. On the other hand - if it's the right person / boutique, everything goes much more smoothly. Huge thank you to my SA and the team - you know who you are!

Will post pics once it arrives

Pics as promised! Really love the way the silver dial pops and sparkles in the light.. also gives everything a very monochromatic look, which I’m loving (it also balances out my black-dial 15400). The overall dial feels to me like the most balanced of the chrono models thus far (all personal preference of course!)

Thank you! I decided on silver - it's actually my first light-color dial watch, but I wanted it to be a bit different and be a counterpoint to my other black-dialed AP.

Thank you! I would've loved to pick it up in person - we did have it shipped to me, but I will be flying over in a couple of months to meet the team in person.

Thanks! It was via AP House in NYC. I initially attempted to build a relationship with Bal Harbor - their advice to me was to call back once a month, every month, to ask what was available. No mention of creating a profile or a wishlist - only found out that was part of the process later on in talks with other boutiques.. that was of course anecdotal though - fingers crossed for you to get your call soon!

Thank you, and absolutely agree! Even when I first saw the new chronos via the announcement last year, I was mesmerized - but seeing it now for the first time in person, it's truly a different experience.

Congrats! Awesome piece. Glad to hear that your patience was rewarded. With so few boutiques and so many people interested it seems almost impossible but it does happen. Wear it in good health.

Congrats! Silver dials are underrated. Interested in hearing your story with multiple boutiques, and how the AP House clicked

Thank you, and yes completely agree! I typically go for darker dials, but this one is really special...

Thanks! The team at AP House was great to work with - and my SA (now friend) at Material Good NYC who made the connection and advocated for me has been absolutely fantastic!

Hah yes, it's a silvery-white. AP calls it "silver", but depending on lighting, it definitely shifts between silvery-grey and white!

It wears seriously well on you

Hate to ask but could you post down-the-barrel shots to show how it fits? I might be the same size as you, always wondered how a 41mm might fit

I guess everyone’s wrist is slightly different whatever flatter or more rounded even if same circumference

For example my wrist is 6.75 but I found 41mm too large and 37mm too small. However you’re 6.5 and 41mm looks great on you.

Personally I’ve asked for ROC 38mm

Yeah it’s tough as fit is so individual and dependent on a lot of different factors. Best of luck with your 38mm ROC, hope to see an incoming post soon!

No problem at all and I hope you enjoy it. As the sun is out this weekend I’m just about to put mine back on so it pops in the sunlight today.

It certainly flies under the radar but I must say it gets a lot of compliments from people whether they are watch enthusiasts or not.

I don’t like the silver for RO as it feels too empty, but it is one of my top choices for ROC. Congratulations!

Enjoying it very much - hope you are as well! I noticed the same re: complements, it does seem to be more noticeable to others than my black-dialed 15400!

Thank you! The variety of textures from the tapisserie, subdials, and subdial rings really work well with the silver!
