And the Hulk is coming back, the Daytona is going to a 42mm, but yes ADs continue to be phased out. No news here…

I used to have a couple of small market longtime dealers I had visited that I feared for. The first had their franchise pulled after 30 years or more. The second AD is gone but not pulled. The longtime family business just decided to retire and close the store. Their area was smaller but has some wealth so I thought maybe a new dealer would appear but not so far.

Don't forget the Coke. They're bringing back the Coke every year regular as clockwork.

Underwood's and Newton's? Underwood's was lost a long time ago now and not a great AD. As I recall, a couple cases of Rolex tucked way in the back of a dark and gloomy store.

Newton's was a blow. Great downtown location, pretty store, and heirs that you would have thought wanted to continue the business but I guess not. Blakeman's is more than capable of handling all of NWA

With respect, if you're going to start a thread, a little substance, possibly including some facts, a source or some evidence are helpful.

So instead of having 500 people ahead of me in the BLNR waitlist, there will now be 1000? Or 1500?

Don't know how any of this helps the regular joe.

No, the two I spoke of were in my old home state of Texas. Ernst Jewelers in Huntsville lost its franchise after a long run. The retiree dealer was Susan Robinson Jewelers in Tyler, I had one watch from them 20 years ago and was still on their mailing list.
Blakeman’s is a bit of an enigma to me. They fit the profile of the type of ADs that RolexUSA is closing and yet there is certainly wealth and a market for it here. I have been there several times looking around. Always treated courteously but it’s hard to read how likely it would be for a new customer to get a Rolex there. I’m also surprised that during their recent expansion that a separate Rolex room wasn’t created.

Small ADs which flaunt Rolex policies are always ripe for elimination.

Talking about Newton's? Bought several Rolex's from them in the past... Kelly was a good guy

Wouldn’t be a surprising move following the Bucherer deal.

A local dealer just finished a see expansion and Rolex and Rudor and Cartier have really nice dedicated sections. No curb side entry for Rolex though. If they lost their AD status, they would be in a huge financial hole.

Some seem down on the boutique strategy. If they go more and more boutique route, customers with watches purchased through ADs could get priority. Other brands value and prioritize loyal customers.

Doesn't matter I've had my Rolex fill. There is nothing in the current catalog that I HAVE to get. YM titanium sure, if called. Lemans Daytona sure, if called. But I have all i want, for now.

On to other brands!

Oh, really? Thats's interesting to hear about the rumors of more AD cuts in2023. Changes in the industry can sometimes lead to shifts in availability. It's always good to stay informed and see how things unfold.

Great. So instead of buying $50k in marked-up jewelry one will need the same in Lady Datejusts to qualify for a SS Sub

They've taken good care of me and have been very pleasant to deal with. From what they tell me they're a high volume dealer in no danger of losing their franchise. Newton's closing can only help as they're the last one standing in NWA and there is plenty of upper middle class wealth here to support them.

They also mentioned they've got regular customers from as far away as Wichita which no longer has an AD.

It seems to me that the purging of AD's happened 10 years ago.

Did not. But then again I'm not visiting ADs and asking, already have a CHNR.
