Looking to buy a new vintage Sub (yes the vintage bug has bit)

Found two very nice pieces... Red Sub, 1967 Or GILT Sub, 1965.
Both great pieces, both from TRF recommended sellers. Price aside....which to buy???

The gilt. Especially if it's got an excellent dial. They're on the fast track to becoming endangered species

X2. I'd love to find a nice gilt Submariner but they seem to be an "endangered species."

hmm, a 1967 Red Sub would be very very strange, as they did not exist then.

The red 1680 was introduced in 1967.

I have heard that 1968 was the debut but I have never seen one with earlier than 1969 markings.

Thank Neil. It's been tough deciding, I started another thread (decided) I'm gonna go with the GILT this time. I love these two both so much for the vintage factor, ruggedness, etc....not going to have both (right now) so I'm going with the one that's appealing a little more for me.
