From an aethetic viewpoint it is hard to compare them obectively when the light on the older one is inferior, the background is different (back of wrist vs front of wrist) and the ceramic is at the unnatural (and opposite) angle of being presented upside down.

As a guy with feminine hands also (elegant?) -thankfully we have hairy arms - I would say I prefer a cleaner understatement than the "look at me" so I like the classic NON-ceramic subs. If you are in your 20's, you may want to go ceramic.. If you are over 40, stay "non".

Both are 40mm but the new supercase has wider lugs so it wears like a 42mm watch, which is perfect for those with 7.25 inch wrists plus who felt 40mm was a little too small.

Sub C is very nice except I can't stand the lugs. The proportions pre C are perfect.

SUB-C is no brainer!

CERAMIC = Scratch resistant bezel (and bezel numbers are etched deeper) = Heavy SS Bracelet = Solid End links = GlideLock = Wider Crown Guards = Heavy Duty Case = No lug holes = wider lugs

I also like the new printing technology used on the dial as well ...

... and above all it still maintains the classic look and spirit (especially if you go for ND) of the original iconic submariner design!

as its your first go with the new subC the bracelet and clasp are so much better than the old one, but as you will buy another sometime down the road, just buy which every sings to YOU now

It's so funny...those are the reasons I will never own a C....

"Heavy bracelet, glide lock (thicker), wider crown guards, heavier case...wider lugs....

I have both the 14060m /114060, and wearing them you see and feel the differences. While they are subtle. The sub c is a more tough looking model looks like its been to the gym.its muscular looking while remaining very true to its roots. Many in the Rolex current lineup are sporting this look. I feel as though most would prefer the sub c but I love both because I'm over the top about this model anyway.

Call me crazy, but I LOVE the way the acrylic crystal handles light. You just don't get that glow with sapphire.
