14060 + a ghost bezel? Seeking photos

Hi there! I recently acquired this beautiful (at least to me) ghost bezel in the attached photo and am considering putting it on a 14060. However, I haven't found any photos of a 14060 + a faded bezel and before I start hunting for the watch too seriously I was hoping someone could share photos of that combo.

I've seen plenty of photos of a ghost bezel + 16800 but I already own a 1680 and am not interested in a second date sub. Thanks in advance!

14060 owner here. Can't help you with a photo of the combo you're after as I've never seen one with a ghost bezel. My 14060 is still too crisp for that type of insert.

PS - I'm pretty sure Patrick Bateman wore a two tone Datejust. Shouldn't you be looking for one of those instead?

I remembering seeing a faded 14060M on HQ a while back. The faded matte blue tone is more natural. Would be interested to know how it got that way because my 14060M insert still looks pristine after 10 years...

The grey "ghost" you attached looks artificially aged.

Thanks. FWIW I bought the insert from a reputable watch store and service center. The owner had a card box full of bezels that he said he has collected over 20 years of swapping out old ones for new. Based on the heavy fading of mine I suspect it came from a 16800.

There are quite a bunch of vintage aged inserts turning to "blue" that are Tudor subs inserts. Quite easy to spot if you look at their back ...

May I ask what is the difference at the back of the Tudor inserts? Thanks.

If it comes from a Blue Tudor Sub, It's blue as well on its back - while a Rolex insert turning to a blueish tone should remain black on its back (not subject to a natural fading).

This one illustrates (saphir version) : http://www.chrono-shop.net/en/1660-a...eneration.html

Some others for plexi :

Far Example, I have strong doubt here : http://www.chrono-shop.net/en/659-19...5513-1680.html

Even if Tudor and Rolex are compatible, there should be a price difference. Hence when buying a faded vintage Rolex insert turning to blue, you should always ask for pictures of its back.

There have been blue inserts for Rolex subs (dual tone or gold with a blue dial), but not considered as vintage.

Thanks, Phllox! That's a great tip and I'm happy to see that mine is totally black on the back.

Also, speaking of ridiculously handsome 14060 + faded inserts, I think I found my role model from HQ Milton's insta: https://www.instagram.com/p/BENIL17Mmc4/

If you go to @kazu753's IG, he posted a wristshot of the 14060 + ghost bezel. Gives you a better look.

Ha, yeah. I'm the guy who requested Kazu post that photo. :)

I overlaid my bezel on my friend's sub and I'm digging it. Now to hunt for a 14060m.
