Vintage sub advice needed

Hi all, it’s been a while since my last post. I have need of some vintage Rolex advice so I thought I would go to the very best place for advice.

I am currently looking at 3 watches and would like to know which would offer best value for money. I posted some pics if it helps

First is a feet first red 1680 1971, looks like the wrong bracelet (not sure) box only at £9,995

Second is a feet first red sub 1680 1970 unpolished, scratched bezel, box only at £11,200

Last is a meters first sub 5513, 1968 unpolished box and full set papers at £11,500

Finally, I have up to £12,500 to spend is it unrealistic to expect to get a reasonable red sub 1680 for that sort of money.

Also for consideration
I did also see a meters first red 1680 mk2 dial, 1969 at £14,500 (not sure if it is still available)

I prefer 5513 M first over a red. Plus the possibility of chipping a dial seems mch more likely on a red. Prices in the UK always seem to be higher than the US. But these seem to be a fair bit higher than Id expect. I'm not convinced that 5513 is unpolished. And the rest of the dials wold need to be inspected well for an paint cipping around the edge.

I'm not a vintage guy, but I saw your post in the general forum, and I don't think it's the forum not being as helpful as the old days, as much as it is that this time of the year people are really busy.

Secondly, there are more demands and requirements placed on all of us not only to make ends meet but for family.

Lastly, I feel that there are not as many people who know a lot about the Vintage, or at least enough to guide you so that you don't make a mistake.

My suggestion, is to buy the one you'd like to wear and not worry about it...

+1. Buy the one you like the best.

I happen to prefer the overall "look" of a 5513 Maxi to all the other variants, so I got one of those.

You're asking super location specific pricing questions to a global community. I have no idea what is reasonable in the UK. Perhaps the UK members haven't seen this thread.

I generally prefer the 5513 over the 1680. I may not be the best source as the 5513 is my favorite vintage Rolex. Prefer the no date dome plexi much better than the top hat on the 1680.

I would need better pictures of the example you have there to provide more input on that particular watch.

More detailed pics are needed of all, but especially of the first 3 options you're considering. Not being able to see macro views of the dial, all lugs, caseback, crown guards, etc makes it difficult to assess what's good or not so good.

Right away, I noticed the first red Sub has a later bezel insert. That's a not insignificant sum to make period correct.

Price is good for the top red sub but think it's sold now. Meters first has been reserved for a while, don't think it's available. Generally UK is a few grand more than in EU.
