Vintage everyday?

Do you wear your nice vintage pieces everyday or do you have an everyday watch and only bring out the nice gear on special occasions?

I have two nice vintage watches that are in rotation. However at work sometimes I have to get down with some manual labor and end up removing the watch and putting it in my pocket of leaving it in my truck, which make me nervous.

I understand we have to wear something that puts a smile on our faces but I'm thinking of getting a less expensive sapphire crystal watch to wear everyday then breakout the good stuff evenings out.
Thoughts, and recommendations for an everyday wearer.
Thanks

Got no reservations wearing vintage that's properly kept/serviced. Swimming with it? I say no.

I try not to get any Water on my Watches, even when washing my Hands....A little overboard? Sure, but better safe than sorry when a Dial can be 5K+ if damaged.

Majority of my watches are vintage and semi-vintage ranging from 1960s to 1990s. My 1675 is my go-to watch for the work days, and I don't baby it at all. It has replacement crystal and crown, and it's pressure tested (original parts stored away). I don't dive with it but I don't take it off to wash hands neither.

Do I worry about scratching it up? Someone already put plenty of that for me so I don't have to worry. :)

Just earlier today at my mechanical design lab.

I wore the 5513 in my avatar daily for three years, near water even! The acrylic crystal is
tougher than people think, and mine had the original super dome. I miss that one.

Thanks - 1961 PCG

Every now and then I catch myself with it on working on the cars - I take it off depending what I'm going to do. If I'm out in the suds at night I'll switch to a more current Marathon TSAR

I do wear it on a NATO most of the time - won't trust a 30-50 year old bracelet

Same boat as 1675-David, I don't really own a modern watch. My rotation is all flavors of vintage.

One for everyday of the week + 1.

It appears you at a desk. I have to move around heavy machinery at times.
Would you still wear them if you thought you could do some damage to them?

I wear my 1680 90% of the time. It is my daily.

My experience was that I feel more comfortable wearing a vintage that is already carrying it's life's marks and scratches than my sparkling new LV. If I scratch the 1680, I think nothing of it. That's not saying I wouldn't shed a tear if I took a chunk out of the plexi or something like that, but everyday scratches are just absorbed by the character of the watch.

Whereas my LV gets a scratch and it stands out like a turd in a fruit bowl.

Not everyday but sometimes you have the vintage itch. When I do it’s a TT datejust.

Yeah I would. The 1501 is serviced and I wash the car, take showers and swim with it. The poor man's Heuer Pasadena (Lejour Chrono) I beat around. I am quite conscientious of what I do with my wrists though; mainly out of habit, so your use may vary. Additionally, all my pieces save the Pasadena clone are acrylic making them easy to remove scratches.

Thanks! I'm actually looking to replace it with a TT Oyster Quartz; preferably the Buckley dial.

1982 16800 matte dial is pretty much my daily wearer , I've really got into the vintage vibe lately, & just think they ooze more character & style than newer watches . To me watches were made to be worn & enjoyed .
