sd43 to sub 41mm
So after a long 2 months I have finally let the SD43 go for a Sub 41mm, am I happy ? yes but disappointed that I cold never love my SD43, to me the sea dweller is THE best looking looking Rolex period.. But it was just too big for my wrist, anyone with say a 7.5" wrist I would say look for nothing else, but if like me you have smaller wrists the Sub 41mm is sublime.
Have I paid more for it, yes but as I couldn't buy it retail and to be honest got fed up sucking up to AD SA's I am happy that I paid over retail which was substituted by the trade of the SD43. Well that's it for me now, sat here ready for Xmas in the morning with the family enjoying the watch I wanted on my wrist ![]() |

Great choice. The Sub looks great on your wrist. I actually recently sold my SD4K. Just too thick. I am waiting on the Sub now.

Congratulations OP, the Sub41 is a great looking piece. If the SD43 wasn't for your wrist, you did the right thing.

My wrist is between 7-7.25 and I had the TTSD for a while. Loved it to death, but it was ultimately too big for me and the caseback dug into my wrist. Sold it and eventually got the green Sub41 and it’s just perfect.

We have similar wrist sizes judging by the pic. The Sub is def the better fitting of the two for us. It looks great! Congrats!

I’m impatiently waiting for a Sea Dweller 43 and I have small wrists so you are making me a little nervous with switching yours out to the Sub. Hopefully I will be happier with mine once I have it. Enjoy your new Sub!

Congrats, OP. It's hard to wear a watch that doesn't fit you right. Good call.

I agree with OP. I however went the other way and picked up the 126 ref DSSD and it wears more comfortable than the SD43. Odd I know, do a search, I'm not the only one.

Just try one on, as I said the SD43 looks brilliant if you can pull it off or are used to much larger watches such as Omega's

Beauty is ruled by proportions. Proportions of the watch and it’s relation to the wrist is key., that’s why watch brands are so strict whe they chose wrist to shoot their watches on. You replaced a perfect watch with another perfect watch, congrats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've had a 11610 Sub for 15 years. AD had a Sea Dweller and offered it to me. I was lathered up until I tried it on. Felt like a tuna can strapped to my 6.75 in wrist. Not for me. Looks to anyone else almost exactly like the Sub but way less comfortable. Nothing to feel bad about. Sub is the GOAT Rolex in my opinion. Even if I wear my Daytonas/Sky Dweller more often if I had to pick just one watch for all time it would be the Sub.

I agree the SD43 is one of the best looking watches in the current line up...or heck, maybe the best looking.
Which is why I would never, ever, EVER trade one for a sub, wrist size be damned. ![]() |

Couldn't agree more. SD43 is THE diver (for me) that I would have bought years ago had it been available. |

Congrats on getting what’s comfortable on you. The upsized divers aren’t for everyone, that’s why Rolex offers a few different models to choose from.
I have 8” wrists and actually just went the other direction; like my SD43 so much I picked up a DSSD blue. Something for everyone, happy holidays! |

I own both the SD43 and the Sub 41. As much as I yearned for the SD43, and love the watch, I just don’t find it comfortable to wear. When I was graced with the opportunity to acquire a SUB41 (at MSRP) I jumped. Poor SD43… the SUB41 is really fantastic. I know everyone is different, but the Sub fits me perfectly.
BTW, this is my first post here. Been following for a while, but this thread made me join. Thank you and Merry Christmas. |

7.5" SD43 guy here and I agree with your decision. The SD is tough for <7" wrists but some smaller flat shaped wrists can pull it off too.

They are two great but different watches. I am lucky to have both (a 41' Kermit and the SD43). They sit very differently and I switch them constantly. If I were to keep only one I would probably keep the SD43, the most comfortable watch that I own. This is of course very personal.

sd43 to sub 41mm
You’ve got to get what you like. A watch you don’t like wearing is no good.
My brother and I both bought SD43s when they came out. His wrist is a little thicker than mine. I enjoy wearing mine. His has sat in his safe pretty much steadily since he bought it. He likes his Submariner more, whereas mine takes a back seat to the SD43. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Congrats!
I have an SD43 but would have no problem with a Sub. It's a classic. |
