Wore one for six months. I agree. The dial is too small and crowded and that date window is too small to read, at least without a real squint from close up.
It was very comfortable for the size of it - and built very well indeed. But I sold it and went with an Explorer II. |

I recently traded for one and love the fact that, although it is a 42mm watch, it wears a bit smaller as a result of the dial and indicies not being that much larger than the new Sub-C.
Its my daily wearer now and couldn't be happier......as you can tell from the pic, I do not have large wrists............ |

Only gripe I had with mine was the glare from the doomed crystal.

I don't have a DSSD, but I love the proportions as it is.
But mostly, I just want to say that I love your name and avatar! I had to read this thread just because it was written by Viv Savage! David St. Hubbins might say, regarding the DSSD, "...how much blacker could it be? And the answer is none. None more black." |

Dial too small, hands too fat, hour markers too big, bracelet too small, crown guards too big, too thick, too look at me, and are they serious with all that text?

I was not a fan until I aquired one from a TRF trusted seller and I must say it has been a joy to wear, yes...it tends to be a bit top heavy and the tapering of the band although a bit thin does have a purpose....In my opinion this is what gives the DSSD uniqueness and character!!

Yes the dial is way too small for the watch!

even though i said i hate the small tapered bracelet visually. i do believe that it was done for a purpose and will probably make the watch wear a lot smaller for a big watch.

I think it's quite proportionate! I think Rolex ran through this "issue" and made a good decision!

Love my DSSD on leather or rubber. Hate the steel bracelet so it's in the drawer.

With today's trend that bigger and heavier is better just heard from Rolex sometime in 2014 many sports watches will be made of a special high lead content SS.But this is no ordinary lead, this lead is super refined and cerachrome coated. And watches will come with 6 different size interchangeable bracelets, heads, and dials, bracelets ranging from 22mm-36mm dials 40mm- 74mm and up to 80mm watch heads for days when you are feeling super strong, and want to show off your supersize super heavy watch.Myself will keep to the S.Steel 40mm ones as I find them a perfect size dial and weight even if you are over 6ft and have 8 and half inch plus wrists.

I don't like all the text on the dial and inner ring telling you what it is. That, combined with the awesome hefty case, is what makes the dial appear smaller than usual, but I like the watch a lot. I'd just prefer it without the essay...

It is a little too top heavy. And I do agree to have the dial slightly bigger. All said, I still love my DSSD, for now. |

I think it's the right size. When I wanted it and even put a deposit down, my only issue was visibility of the dial being a little bit blurry at certain angles, due to the thicker crystal I assume. It wasn't a deal breaker. The deal breaker was me not making my work bonus at the time. Overall, the Deepsea is a great watch.
