Thinking of buying a Rolex Daytona, few questions :-)

Just joined this forum last night, excellent forum :-)
I have owned two Rolex submariners, the 5513 model and the 50th Anniversary model, I've since sold my 50th Anniversary model a few years back as there were quite a few kicking about, but have kept my 5513, still my favourite :-).
Anyway Im in the market for a Daytona now, I've phoned my local Rolex dealer and asked about prices etc, the Daytona SS white is £8000 and the Bi Metal One he said he could probably do for £10,500. The SS model he said would probably take a while to get in and there is also a waiting list, however he said he might be able to source a bi metal one a bit easier.
My question is doo you think this is a reasonable price for both or am I better looking on the internet to get a better deal ?, Im not sure about importing one as the money you save you would have to pay back in import tax anyway.
Any help from the Rolex gurus would be appreciated, cheers.
