Red Letter Submariner Question
Hey guys, brand new member here. My father was given this watch by my grandfather when he turned 16, he in turn gave it to me when i turned 16. I have never really done a ton of research I just knew I loved the watch and would never sell it no matter the value. Now that I have recently been blessed with a son of my own, I wanted to find out a little more about the watch. It was just today that I realized after look at all the different watch faces out there my red letter seemed to be a little different. At the top the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Logo is on three separate lines where basically every watch I have found is on just 2 lines. Does anyone happen to have any information on this particular face? I have exhausted my google abilities. Thanks in advance.
ps. sorry for the scratched up beaten up look. It desperately needs a cleaning and service. I was a bit worried to send it out until I got little more info |

Like I said I would never sell it but coming from the classic car industry I have to think repainting the dial would affect the value. I am assuming a serial number of some kind would be the only way to prove it is a red letter at this point. New pics attached as requested. Thanks again. |
