Rolex 15053 1987 34mm Pick Up

I was lucky enough to pick up a Rolex 15053 1987 34mm on Friday for $1500USD!

It was absolutely filthy when it was delivered and required several clears but it has tided up very well.

It is in very good condition for its age.

The serial starts with R231xxxx, so thats definitely 1987. The clasp code is K8, which is 1986?

Was it common practice for Rolex to sell watches with bracelets from previous years?

Nice pick up but the pic of the serial number makes me cringe lol
Very normal to see accessories within a year. They had a lot of over runs and would just grab whatever was in front of them. It may be current or from the previous year if some were left over from a previous build.

The watch was perhaps the worst one I have received in terms of grime.

Anyhow, its on my wrist and glistening. The odd thing which was unexpected based on its appearance is how well it is keeping time. Its lost four seconds in 24 hours!

What a great watch! Love that engine-turned bezel.
