Datejust 16233, should i be concern?
Hi All,
My 1990 Rolex is showing oxidation/rust/bubbling on the Hour, Minutes, Seconds hands. Should I be Concern? |

It’s a natural process that hands go through. You can replace them w a new set of hands if you get the watch serviced. They’re readily available for this model.

Leave them be. Part of the character of the ageing process and modern replacements would not match. Yours has Tritium markers so replacements would need to also be in Tritium to avoid devaluing it.

Are the hands on a TT supposed to be solid gold? Or gold plated?

Thanks everyone for your feedback...!!! I think I will leave it as it is without devaluing it with new replacement parts.
As for the hands, I’m not so sure whether is solid or gold plated. This is my 1st Rolex.... |

I would replace them.
You can easily source the right hands for this model. Also, I would check the movement for any signs of moisture or rust.
