"Reasonably" priced Alcantara straps?
I just ran across a site (not sure if I'm allowed to say whom) that sells custom-made Alcantara straps. They look awesome and comfortable...I want one! But...he's charging $199 EACH for them. That's about 2-3 times what I'm willing/able to pay for a strap.
Does anyone know of a more reasonably-priced alternative? I understand some of this stuff is hand-made, but to me $200 for a square foot or two of material seems kind of high. |

So you want a strap for $199/3? Not many in that range.
Keep in mind, this isn't a high volumn commodity like belts. I mean everyone needs a belt, but not many need a 24mm watch strap.

Actually, $50 for a single strap is more my limit. I just can't justify spending that much on something that will get wrecked so soon from wear and tear.

I bought an alcantara supposedly. Turned out not to be alcantara really. I have alcantara as my roof on my 911 and I've seen plenty of high grade alcantara. His statement of " the best alcantara" is untrue.
Ill tell you who not to buy from if you pm me. |

If you spend more than $50 you will find that the strap, assuming it's from a reputable seller, will last quite some time. Not to mention it will age nicely. You get what you pay for.
