SD or DSSD
Ok, this has been discussed before but I suppose there's no harm in going through this one more time?
I'm looking at getting a preown sea dweller and can't decide between the DSSD or the SD. Please give me your views, with accompanying pics if you will. Thanks much |

For me easy a 1665 SD but I am a vintage guy. For you get the one you like better. Clearly one of them will sing out to you more than the other. Go try a DSSD on and see if you like the look and feel. Happy hunting...Cheers,

I'd say 16600 or older for me. Simply because I prefer the pre ceramic rolexes! But that's just my opinion. As they say "to each his own".

SD. I really want to buy a DssD but everytime I try it on it feels way to lopsided. Have you tried it? My buddy had one and sold it for that reason. Try it first to know.

SD would definitely fit but the DSSD will be about 1/3 the thickness of your wrist!

The Pams wear smaller than a Rolex. Our wrists are about the same size and 42mm Explorer II looked too big on me but a Pam 44mm looks OK. I think the DSSD would be too big. Find a nice SD instead.

I would go for the DSSD. The SD is a great watch, but I really believe DSSD has become the ultimate tool watch. I almost bought one and wish I did. In fact, it is on my short list.

while the models share some historical traits, they're completely different watches. you'll need to wear them both but the safer no-look no-wear purchase is the older sd as its more practical and user friendly in every aspect. if you want something more attention getting and modern, get the dssd. good luck

A DSSD on a 6.5" wrist....no way. More like a 36mm Datejust.

42mm is as large as any watch I would own, my wrists are about 7.0", and even that is pushing it, for me and how I want the watch to look.

Well you don't see either of them coming & going.
I have seen one of each in the wild. I had a SD as a daily wearer for about fives. (Sold it 3 months ago) really miss it, clean lines. |
