Date just Gold Tarnish

Sorry if this has been covered before...I have a 1975 two toned 1601 Datejust. Less than a year ago I brought my watch in to a RSS to remove some tarnish around the 12 and 6 O'clock markers. My question is how can I prevent this from happening so quickly. I had this watch for 11 years with no issue of tarnishing, but in the last two years the tarnishing seems to come back. Thanks for any help you could provide.

Its not the gold it self that tarnishes its the the other 25% of the alloy used like say copper 18Kt gold 75% pure gold the rest a mixture of other alloy metals. In general its sweat from wearing, cosmetics, and in general not keeping the bracelet clean with regular washing in soap and water that causes tarnish. But can be quite normally polished out with many gold cleaning products on the market.

Why would you go to the Service Center to clean your watch..

Just have your man do it when he does the silver..

Gold can tarnish or get a patina but I've never seen it happen in less than a year. Are you using some sort of different soap or other skin product. Just go out and get a jewelry polishing cloth and you can clean it yourself in about 3 seconds.
