Got my 217 right before things went crazy, then I sort of got tired of the watch thing. Now the new one will join the 217 tomorrow.

Just the 217 and my wife's 49.

This sounds weird, but I sort of forced myself out of it last year. I started my own company and wanted to really concentrate on it. That is why I have not been around like I used to be on here.

14 months later, company is outstanding, family is all healthy and I'm getting that itch again. Want to be a little more diverse this time, so I am enjoying Rolex as well as Panerai.

I've sort of "grown" if you will and really appreciate all brands.

It also doesn't hurt that the 217 sells for just about double the list price on the secondary market and I got in just at the right time.

No one could ever accuse you Daren of not knowing your way around Panerai. That's simply an amazing array of watches you have had. I obviously like your 217 the best

Now I have a few questions for you.

1) I notice some similitaries in a few models. For instance, the 27c and 57c look the same to me. Is it just the dial?

2) The 118, 111, & 1A all look similar to me too. What's the differences there?

3) Which one is or was your favorite?

The 27C is SS with a black dial. The 57C is Ti with a tobacco dial that has a dimple type pattern on it.

The 118 is Ti with a tobacco dial. The 111 is SS with a black dial and the 1A has painted Tritium dial. That one is special and they don't make it like that anymore.

The favorite is a tough one, probably the 217, from a feel, look and historic standpoint.

I like the 111, but not the polished case on it. So that would maybe be a 177?

I also don't know if I could get by without a date function cuz I use it every day.

Awesome collection. I just love the PAM submersibles (24 & 25), I would also like to see a PAM 243!

I notice the prices really start to jump when you get in to the in house movements found in the manual winding watches like the 8 day and the 10 day.

How did you like the manual watch?

I see me wearing a Panerai in the near future!!
