Icon20 What to buy next? FOR INVESTMENT AND PLEASURE

Hello guys I would love to get some opinions from the forum.

I currently have the following and I truly enjoy them daily:

Patek 5980/1a 2009
AP 15407 2016
Lange datograph rose gold 2017
Rolex Batman 2018
Omega speedmaster 1866 2017

I have approx 170,000 USD budget - and in a position to
buy 1-3 pieces new or used has to be either Patek, AP, Rolex, Richard Mille

If you had this budget, what would be your next piece?
What should i buy to get the best investment for the future 2-5 years in your opinion?

I know at lot of you guys will say that watches are not for investment but all of my pieces are making very decent profit (except omega ) If I choose wisely maybe this trend will continue

Watches i have in mind:

RM 11-03 titanium RM 35-01 carbon (but prices already gone up so much)
Other RMs that are not so common at used market with good future..
Rolex La Montoya (if only any of u know how to get it )
Patek 5270 blue dial (maybe - but cannot find)
AP perpetual calendar ceramic 26579CE

I know none of us really know but Any opinion would be great!

Looks like the La Montoya can be ordered and custom made directly from their site.

https://www.artisansdegeneve.com/en/...-montoya-gold/

I have no opinion on anything else as this is way out of my league.

What percentage of return are you looking to get when you sell these investments in 2-5 years?

IMHO, not possible to know economic factors 2-5 years out. Prices could be flat by then.

But my advice is pre-owned in Excellent condition, full sets, stay with Patek models you like, and no matter what - you will enjoy it and have best chance to preserve or from value.

For investment and pleasure, I would go with vintage Rolex SD, Sub, or Porsche 911 :)

I agree.

As for the "La Montoya" it has been discontinued and no more than 50 copies were ever made. Good luck.

You've made a lot of threads on which watches you should buy... how about some pics of the watches you actually have?

What happened to the 5990 you owned, and didn't you say you were going to buy another investment Chrono last year?

Thanks for the reply. I was not able to upload as I was newbie to this forum.

As for the 5990 VS 59801a I talked about last post: I decided not to buy them just yet. But would have made a profit on it I did lol 😬

I have an Instagram account ‘Art_time_collector’ please check it out!

I just clicked on this thread to see how many people were saying, "Watches are not investments!!"

Sadly I was disappointed.

Any early RM specially those single digit are a good buy such as RM002 or RM005 (highest water resistance tonneau case RM)

While in a lower price range than the pieces you have in mind, I would recommend considering adding an 18k Zenith Daytona to your collection.

Curious how true that is. They just barely released it.

Did the overpriced 50 steel versions (116520's) all find buyers this quickly.

It is a hobby, a commitment, you name it, definitely not investment forum..

Regardless how much you can spend ( Seiko or RM ) , ths forum is for watches passionates who are a bunch of friends, and share the same passion.
If you can make a buck selling watch to buy next one you are hunting for, good on you. Majority of us probably won't as we use heart for this hobby, insted of brain.

Lastly would you consider making commitment or friendship with mind set up how much you can make out of them.

I don't. It is my passion.

Don’t know about it being an investment, but I tried the AP ceramic PC and the thing is stunning! I’d probably go with that. My pic, not my watch:

I got that information from the website, so I'm assuming it's correct.

By the way, the customer provides the watch according to the website.

No matter what money you choose to spend I would stay well away from RM. A thorough search on the movements they use should result in your opinion of RM being greatly diminished especially when considering the price they are asking for them.
For that money and something a bit more adventurous why not try a complicated Parmigiani ? Absolute exquisite watches !

I have to disagree with you here. They "make/use" some of the most complex movements and based on supply and demand -- many of their models on the grey market continue to rise in value
