Flaking dial on a GMT Fat Lady

Hi! I have a Fat lady in excellent shape with faded dial (yellow and nice), and I handed in for a general service at a certified Rolex dealership. They looked at the watch and told me that the dial was flaking, which means that debree could fall off and into the movement, which makes service pointless. They wanted to put in a new dial etc.

From my perspective - im stuck. I really do not want to replace the dial as that will make the watch look "brand new".
Do you know if there are any options out there? could someone seal the dial so it doesnt flake? or can I buy a vintage dial and put it in (i probably risk having that dial flaking as well sometime soon).

Any ideas would be very welcomed.
I am based in NYC.

thank you!

get it back from that Dealership and ship it to a shop that will stabilize the existing lume.

I just had a 1973 1016 serviced at Watchmakers International, they also fixed an issue I had with the hands, they did a fantastic job.

I have sent my 16760 to Bob Ridley at Watchmakers International for a similar problem few years ago. They did an excellent job, I highly recommend them.

All the best,
