First impressions:
- dial overall pleasant looking with light crazing..but its even - should test the dial and hands with a uv light to see if it still glows for a short amount of time - case looks to be fairly fat, crown guards are attractive - insert appears to be an MK3, period correct would be an MK2 "long 5" - date stamping on the bracelet doesn't look as sharp as other pics from the same period, not sure if its an indication either way of authenticity...it is a period correct bracelet. Overall, presents very nicely, as with anything it depends on price vs condition. At expected price points, I would also look to confirm the serial matches the period for a bart/gilt 5513. whats the asking price? |

I’d say it is all about the gloss. Depending on that it could be anything from a 20k to a 40k watch. Very hard to judge from the pics. Feeling it is closer to 20k..

You mean the coronet on the dial being discolored/degraded?
I've seen it before. Some/alot of older gilt dials will have issues...some worse than others. If dial damage is aesthetically pleasing, it can command a premium, most will devalue depending on current and future potential of damage. Price is not crazy assuming everything is legit, but I would expect you can get it for less...as Per mentioned. Get it authenticated before you decide. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

Thanks...it’s interesting. With matte dials, it seems that over time, the dial just gets better, effectively increasing the value of the watch. However, with Gilt dials, it seems that the degradation is inevitable and therefore is actually decreasing its value overtime. True or not true?

Not the ideal 5513 for me... I think there are better examples at $20k. I specifically find the lume coloring a turn off, but everyone has an opinion. I see a lot of both matte and gloss dials out there - as far as aging goes I’m not sure what the long term outlooks are.
