As a kid I remember the gold President (i.e. Day/Date) made a strong impression but in terms of being interested in buying one myself now that I actually could afford one, it was actually the Milgauss that first caught my eye. Have since moved on and now am focused on other models but that's what drew me to the brand initially.

The Pepsi I bought used in 1988

Which i then had to sell in 1990 as we had a 13% mortgage.

It’s the only watch i have ever had to sell,,,
Never again,,

When i was younger it was the DJ only, i had no interest in any sports models. Later on about 5 yrs ago when my interests were resparked it was the 5dgt Sub that got me going down the rabbit hole.

The Submariners and Sea Dwellers of the Saturation Divers when I was working on Dive Support vessels back in early 90's.

A 1990s two-tone Datejust with diamond champagne dial owned by my father. I couldn't carry off that look so bought an Explorer.

Please share the model that caught your eye, which prompted you to own a rolex.
I’ll second that. Bought my TT Bluesy in July.

Wanted a 16613 blue for 24 yrs before I bought one in June. It’s an incredible timepiece!

Mine was a 1988 5513 no date sub. I bought it in 2003 when I was in my early 20s. I was in retail, and only bought the watch because I thought it might add some credibility.

I wore it for 6 years every day. I wasn't a watch nerd yet. When I sold my first business, I sold that watch also not knowing the significance of it at all. It was a transitional model (plastic crystal, yet it had wg indices)

I kick myself every day for letting that one go. And I always keep my eye out for another.

My dad used to wear a YG Datejust. Fell on harder times when I was in college and sold it. I was devastated for him. Everything ended up fine, but he never got a full gold piece again. He wears a TT DJ now.
I purchased an 18238 last year and recently traded up for the YG 40mm DD. Now there is a full gold piece in the family.

Day date has always been and still is the goal but GMT-II is really what got me to pull the trigger.

For me, it was the 16613LB. When the time came to buy a Sub, I ended up opting for the 16610LN, but one day I'll add the LB

Back in 2005, when I was in the market for my first nice watch, the choices came down to a sub (16610) or the black omega seamaster. The omega won the debate. Loved the wave dial and sword hands more than the sub. Wasn't a fan of the cheap feeling bracelet either. Still have the omega and was my daily wearer. Fast forward to 2017. My father passed and I got his datejust. Has more sentimental value than exciting me for the brand. UNTIL I saw the 116610lv. Instantly fell in love with it. Now it's my daily. I can not stop looking at how beautiful the green dial is. The omega and the datejust still get there wrist time but the green sub is what made me fall in love.

116500LN black dial. Not exactly unique in that regard. :-)

As a boy the Submariner (I got it at the age of 14). As an adult the Daytona.
