AD visit today

Went into my local AD this afternoon to pickup my GMT that needed service. Was able to see a box of brand new Rolex watches in their plastic containers. There were about eight or so and an employee was running the warranty cards through what looked like an iPad - possibly registering the serial numbers, not sure. Asked to see the lot but was only shown a Batman and Yachtmaster 116622, which was the only one not spoken for. Some lucky folks will be getting the call in short order.
Only mention this because for the last few visits, the well was mostly dry - no sport models. In the showcase, I saw four PM models and got to try on two. Really accommodating and patient sales staff, very willing to put you into the PM model of your dreams. It was nice to see that the Rolex supply chain is still active.
Cheers

Was the BLNR available for purchase? I am in the So Cal area (though away atm on a business trip), and it has been hard to locate one in the current situation... If you don't mind, and the watch was available for purchase could you please PM me the AD location?
Thanks in advance! :)

I read it as he saw a Blnr and a YM (which (YM) was the only one not spoken for).
There’s no mention of the BLNR being available and I’d be absolutely staggered if it was unsold.

BLNR are really hot pieces and normally always spoken for as soon as they come in. Most ADs have long lists.

Narin1980 is correct, all in the box were spoken for except the YM. The four PM's in the display case were available. AD is in North county San Diego.

So they received 8 watches and 7 were already sold. Versus having stainless Submariners sitting the cases for a couple of weeks like two years ago. And people say the shortage is hurting ADs.

Having a blnr available for first come is pretty rare these days... but I've heard it does happen and usually ends in a feeding frenzy

This is a VERY accurate observation..

AD I have spoken to have SOLD more SS ROLEX, especially LVC , than ever...

People buy off the list, driven by FOMO and exclusivity.

PUT ME ON THE LIST!!!! is now the tone of the day for the enthusiast and collector....

The "meh"s, or "i'll think about it's" are long, long gone since they are not in the case...

and for those who aren't enthusiasts, the fantastic DJ and PM models are right there to satisfy the Rolex needs of the general public..
