Well its my turn - UPS can't find it
So the 14060M had something going on where it would cease operations at 12:10 - 12:20 several days in a row (both AM/PM) and Rik told me he would get it squared away.
I had Rik shoot me a prepaid UPS 2nd day air label like he has done a couple of times now (USPS registered is ideal yes, but it took 3 weeks last time I went that route). Packed it up and dropped it off at the UPS store on 10/4, got an acceptance scan and receipt as I always do. Well I log on to check and see if it's been delivered and low and behold - nothing beyond "dropped off at UPS store". Called and spoke with UPS and they initiated an investigation to see what is going on. Based on google searches it seems this might not turn out well. The shipping label was issued from Transurit so there is coverage there from what I gather and I have coverage with JM. What are the odds its found and happily makes its way to Rik? If it doesn't I guess it will be time to file a claim if UPS can't find it. On the claim piece with JM - would I have to hunt down another 14060M or will they make me go through an AD? If it's the later does this limit me to current production models (let's assume they are available)? This has become pretty damn frustrating. |

Hopefully it pops up at Rik’s.
If not, please keep us up to date on the claims process. I use JM too, wasn’t sure if they’d cover in transit and am also curious how they want you to source out of production models.

I have had a few scary scenarios where a package disappeared for a little while, and then popped back onto the radar. Most recently as last month. A package delivery was scanned into the distro center in my area, then back to a distro center 2 hours away, then just sat with no update for 4 days. I called and spoke with someone who initiated the investigation process, and two days later - it was back on track. All hope is not lost, this does happen...

I'm not sure either what JM will do - was going to wait and see what UPS is able to do before I make any calls to them. |

Lucky I live only 30 minutes from Rik and can drop my watches off. I've always been skeptical of shipping my watches for repair.
I hope things turn out well and JM covers you if it can't be located. Curious to see JM handles it because that's who I use for insurance.

It seems to me that if Rik had third-party insurance on the package, then they will eventually pay the claim which he can then pass funds on to you. So I wouldn't panic although the waiting is definitely annoying and hopefully the watch doesn't have any sentimental value.

The hassle of it all will be the biggest pain in the rear. But I'm staying optimistic and hope it shows up in some hub/truck/etc.. at UPS. |

You dropped it off on a Thursday just prior to a holiday weekend (Columbus Day) so while it seems like a long time, it’s really only a couple of business days. UPS is actually really good about tracking down lost packages so I wouldn’t panic just yet. Your watch assuming they haven’t lost it is also being shipped into a hurricane. I’d give them til Friday and then I’d really be concerned. Hope it turns up!

Have you made Rik aware of the situation and has he notified Transurit? Agree that the hurricane may be causing issues.

Best of luck!
Packages do get moving, in most cases. I ship quite a bit both UPS and USPS. As i was dropping off packages at UPS yesterday, i saw the poster on their wall with what's not allowed to be shipped and was surprised to see Items of exceptional value. Granted exceptional is a broad term, but it made me think about watches. Again, best of luck!

These can turn up over time, UPS will end up doing a warehouse search, it could have been miss loaded and ended up some where else.
As maybe a more funny side, I once had a guy tell me couldn’t find an entire PMC and swore that it was never offloaded. A 2minute wall into the warehouse it was found *♂️ |

Hope it turns up.
JM will not source a watch. You’ll go to a vendor of choice and JM will pay up to your insured value, or less if available.

Call UPS and get hold of a supervisor. Raise some hell with said supervisor. Inform the rep that you know how many items tend to "grow legs" in both Nashville & Memphis hubs (although your's won't go thru Mempit) and you would like to escalate the case.
VERY good odds it will all of the sudden start moving again in the next 48 hrs or less. Can't tell you how many times I have had to do this with UPS and/or USPS and then it starts moving again Yeah, it was found after falling off a conveyor, blah, blah, blah. Recently had a watch sent via Registered Mail go missing until I raised hell. How is that even possible as Registered Mail items not only travel in a separate numbered zip tag sealed bag, but get scanned and signed for every step of the way? Magically started moving the next morning. I trust workers at any package delivery carrier exactly Zero percent. |

Well I figured I'd use some of my professional resources and shot off an email to the SVP of Customer Solutions at UPS.
Let's see what happens - it's worked before in other industries I've dealt with over the years. |

First thing I say when someone gets on the phone of any business using overseas CS these days............ "Please, connect me to a stateside supervisor". The calls are recorded, so they have to do so, albeit reluctantly.
That should work too. |

I feel your pain, shipping lately has been a total nightmare!! I use USPS FedEx and UPS I would say lately the UPS has been the worst, FedEx is a close second and USPS has been great lately. JMHO

Their security team reviewed CCTV footage from the store during drop off, it appears the employee put the package in the USPS "pick up' basket. They are working with the local postal inspector to locate the package.
I was told 1 of 3 options: - makes it to Rik via USPS - makes it back to UPS and on to Rik - They find it and fly it down there The communication from the UPS team has been outstanding, I've received multiple calls throughout the day letting me know the process etc. |
