Watch shopping in Greece
Hey TRF,
I'm on Greece (Athens, Santorini, and Mykonos) for a few weeks and wanted to know if you all had any watch shopping recommendations? Thanks in advance. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk |

SS sports. Isn't that what everyone is trying to find?

I’m in santorini now (oct 25 2018) and wanted to give my experience on Rolex shopping in Santorini. There are only 2 shops on this island that are AD and both are owned by same company.
I went searching for an SS model and the only one they have available to buy was an exp 1 39mm. It was beautiful in person but not what I was looking for. I did see a DJ 31mm with Roman numerals and rhodium dial with fluted white gold bezel on SS oyster bracelet I considered purchasing for the wife. Price was $7200 euro before vat, I asked for a better deal and I would buy on the spot. The only thing they offered was if I paid $1k in cash and the rest on card they would drop price to $7000. Is this now the norm in buying even a DJ? I read on these forums DJ can be talked down even 20%, but since I was aboard and it was a watch I was interested in I offered an initial price of $6500 euros. The salesperson felt offended and started only to speak with my wife haha. Anyways, that $7000 euro was the only deal they gave me. I also checked out a DJ 36mm WG fluted bezel in Roman numerals and rhodium dial, I’ve wanted one for myself as well but on my 7.25in wrist I thought was way too feminine looking when I tried it on. It was $7550 for that and no discount either. I’ll be heading to Athens for a week and will report back on any deals I can find there on SS models if they carry any or on DJ if I buy there. |

Did you have any luck in Athens, out of interest?
I'm assuming it's just as hard to find SS Rolex models there as anywhere else, but I'm going to Greece and Italy in September so am interested to know. |
