I think that's the best call. You can keep it for 6-12 months before deciding and still get (more than) your initial investment out of it if you decide it's not for you. And I REALLY don't think your AD will blacklist you if you sell it 8-9 months later...

I would make it a point to visit the AD after a month or two while wearing it.

Buy it, flip it and donate profit to charity.

If you pass it, chances are the next guy will just flip it anyway - if not immediately, then eventually. There’s only a handful of folks here I know who would actually wear the heck out of it and pass it to their kid. No time to screen.

That’s a good plan, congrats in advance! If you decided to part ways with it, let me know

What a wonderful dilemma to be in. I put my name down first as soon as it was announced at Basel (within a few minutes). Confirmed I was first on the list. The excitement was killing me and then when the AD got it, I was told I can try it on but it was "sold to someone else already". Talk about shooting a man's horse in front of him.

Congrats OP, I am sure you will fall in love with it Hopefully I get that call some day. Unless a full kit 5 digit pops up before I get the call, in which case I'll go 5 digit instead.

I’m not a flipper of watches but can’t help feeling that I should take the 126710BLRO and flip it for a small profit to help fund a 16710. I’ve always been the type that when I saw a grey market dealer put up a new release at a ridiculous price it would anger me so that some guy who really wants it to wear is missing out because of it. So anyway what would you guys do, to flip or not to flip?
I always wanted a 16710 but since I put the 126710 on my wrist I can’t put anything else on!! It’s the best ss watch for me!!

This but with a reasonable amount of cash my way depending on the 16710 market value

I have a good relationship with my AD and knew I was number 2 on the list for the 126710. Number 1 came in so I figured it would be months before I would get mine so I started searching for a 16710. Well, I bought a very, very, nice 16710 and about three days later the phone call comes in my 126710 had arrived.

I love the 16710 and it’s here to stay, but to your comment DoctorA, since the 126710 arrived, it has taken the larger share of wrist time.

To avoid this, I've advised the OP to go by a nominated by others process rather than people begging on their own behalf.

With all the kvetching here about flippers and how wait lists don't produce, I'm surprised at most of the responses here.

The right thing to do is pass and let the next in line have it.

Golden rule, etc.
