So you’re saying that next time an engineer needs to remove a bit of material from a steel piece, that he should reach for the talcum powder instead of the rasp file?

As for chipping — that’s purely a function of the material’s brittleness, which results in fracturing rather than deforming, like typical metals used. The shape is practically immaterial in that regard.
