Icon20 Jitter??

Hello
I recently purchased a 16220 datejust 1998 model from a friend and noticed that the sweep of the second hand is not perfectly smooth. All aspects are correct including the serial # and paper work with warranty card etc that back up autheticity. I don't think this watch has been serviced since new. Could this be the reason or is this slight jitter being mistaken for fine ticking?
Any insight greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by jitter? A 3135 should beat 8 times per second. If you're looking for a really smooth sweep, the Bulova Precisionist and Seiko GS lines are nice.

Larry Tools posted this pic, does a great job of catching the 8 ticks per second.

Hello Gentlemen, Happy New Year
Thankyou for the quick response. I think what I am seeing is what you sent me in the pic. I too play in photography and will do a 1 second time exposure on my watch along with my Wifes baby Rolex. I was led to believe that the Rolex was perfectly smooth in its sweep.
Best Regards
Greg

One of the only true sweeps of older watches is the Bulova Accutron and now the seiko springdrive. Rikki
