OMG...Best Looking 5512 on the planet!
Hello all...I just found this 5512 from 1966 that was posted as the "Shot of the Day" on Jake's Blog back in 2009. I am out of my mind in love with this watch and wanted to share it with my fellow vintage Sub enthusiasts as this just has to be as good as it gets.
This 5512 example takes "eye candy" to a whole new level IMHO. |

Not bad - but 'best on the planet'? I admire your enthusiasm, though!

Can't beat those lumes though. I suspect photoshop is adding some depth and color here 😊 thanks for the pic op!

Nice indeed. Would have been perfect if never polished and a bit banged up.
Proper tool watch, as Rolex was designed to be. But the pampering of today...

Gaudy polish and as long as they were photoshopping should have cleaned up that horrible poking-out springbar... Puffy lume too.

Darn! I thought I had the best 5512! Joking aside, that's nice patina on that 5512, but agree with the comments about the case. Too much polish.

That rich dark lume (albeit Photoshopped) is hypnotizing though. This is perhaps an excellent example of the absolute necessity of having a potential vintage purchase fully vetted on this awesome Forum to be sure to fulfill the all important "Caveat Emptor" rule BEFORE buying. Enjoy your Sunday all |

Swish, try some black cardboard above the dial next time. It's tough to appreciate the dial on that beauty with all the reflective distractions.

Interesting... what started as the "best looking 5512 on the planet" isn't even the best one on this short thread...

BTW, the square crown guard 5512 I posted is not mine unfortunately. I wish it were mine...
