SS Stock Near Me

I have visited an AD in Scarsdale yesterday which is about 40 minutes north of NYC or 15 minutes south of White Plains.

Stock looked good...comparatively The following were in the case:

SS Yachtmaster 2
SS Explorer 2 Black Dial
SS Sea Dweller
WG Daytona 116519LN

Following were in the pre-owned case:

SS Ceramic Sub Date
SS Ceramic GMT
SS Kermit (Price was super high)

The only thing on that list that surprises me is the SD. Was it the SD43?

Nice! I found a SS No-Date sub in that location last March and passed as I was holding out for a GMT.

They had a decent pre-owned selection at the time. Out of curiosity, what did they have the LV sub listed at?

Man. That is high.

Well if there is any location in Westchester where he may be able to get that it’s Scarsdale.

Since I know you’re from the area, have you ever checked out Tarrytown Jewelers? They’re a gray dealer with a lot of stock in Hartsdale.

That’s more than I’ve seen at the last 3 AD’s for SS models combined!

I went by my local AD last weekend and they had 1 Rose gold day date and 6 ladies Datejusts. That’s it, not a single other Rolex anywhere.

Was the 116600 at MSRP? That would be a sweet score.

At the AD in Walnut Creek, CA this weekend, no SS sports models at all. Zilch.

Rolex case was only about 1/4 filled. I’d be livid if I were a dealer right now having that much display space generating zero revenue.

Nothing new there I haven't seen in most AD cases up here.

Wake me up when someone sees one of each SS model in a case. Anything less is a waste of my time.

I know this AD (Wilson and Sons) very well. I would be hard pressed to find a nicer bunch of guys. They are very generous with their time and extremely knowledgeable on all things Rolex. Their store is impeccable as is their service. They don't treat their customers (or prospective customers) in the lousy manner which so many of us have become accustomed to when looking for SS sport models. I'd highly recommend them to anyone in the tri-state area...

Are non-JC Deepseas not very sought-after anymore?

No one but a complete moron is paying that much for a regular Kermit. People ask a lot for these but they are not easy to sell. Recently there was a mint 2008 full set for $9500 locally in NYC. Even as an investment I had to pass.

Yep. I can attest to this as well. I went in there once to look and they were extremely nice and accommodating. Although I ultimately ended up buying elsewhere, I will definitely try them out if / when I'm in the market to buy again.

I remember when people said $9k for a Kermit was absolutely ridiculous and no one would ever pay that. You were a complete moron if you did. Well, we see what happened there, didn't we.

Whether they are or not is beside the point. The 116600 is the 40mm, ceramic SD4K. It's a very different watch from a Deepsea. Having one new in the case at retail would be quite a find, since it was discontinued two years ago, and is still highly sought by fans of the model.

After the black Explorer II, the Deep Sea is my most seen non-DJ in AD cases lately. The SD43 remains a rarity in the AD case.
