Should Rolex be the Bond watch again?

Hello all, I loved Daniel Craig as Bond and I think Omega suits James Bond very well. Bronson even had an Omega as James Bond, but do you think Rolex should be the official Bond watch again instead of Omega? If so, which model would best fit for Bond?

Yes, but Omega seems to have the foothold on the modern James Bond franchise.

I’m a Bond fan and my favorite Bond is Roger Moore and the iconic Bond watch to me is the Buzzsaw Submariner from Live and Let Die.

Yes! The Sub needs to be the Bond watch again!

IIRC, in the book that introduced Bond, Fleming wrote, "Bond could not wear just any watch, it had to be a Rolex."

That should cover it nicely, thank you.

I think after Craig’s final appearance they should switch to Rolex. New Bond and new watch!

I suppose it would also depend on who the new Bond is...but I would say either a Sub or Sea Dweller of some type. I think either of those would check the appropriate boxes.

More likely that he wears aTudor, if there were to be a switch away from Omega.

In my professional life, I’ve had involvement with how Bond movies tied in with Aston Martin. You heard it here first..... Tudor.

Ian Flemming's iteration of Bond did wear a Rolex Oyster of course. The black dial OP would be understated enough for him to wear. The Planet Ocean is just too ridiculous and loud for a secret agent to wear.

Really, it's all imaginary and paid for product placement. It doesn't matter. No matter which company it is it will be bought and paid. Might as well make it Patek.

That is correct. Which is why it won’t be Rolex. Rolex didn’t pay when Bond wore them. Tudor may pay though ...

Should be Rolex but it will depend on who pays the most, Tudor are the likely ones if Omega ever let go.

Indeed. It won’t be a Rolex of course due to product placement taking precedence over originality. But it should be one of these.
