Baselworld 2019 - odds and ends

I always enjoy the prediction threads regarding the major stuff we talk about -- such as a new Submariner movement, BLNR discontinued, possible new SS Coke on oyster, etc. But there are a couple of smaller things I'd really like to see.

1) First would be regarding the DJ36. Last year the TT Everose DJ36 got the caliber 3235, new case with thinner lugs, and new stick dial. I'd love to see all of those changes rolled out across the entire DJ36 line, the new dial is really sharp.

2) Regarding the OP36 -- I've never been a fan of the double baton dials and would love to see the same dial selection as the 39mm and 34mm. I don't think that'll ever happen due to the redundancy, but the 36mm size is great except for the double batons.

What are some more "minor" things you'd like to see at Basel this year?

Not sure if this qualifies as minor, but besides an updated Sub movement, I'd love to see some bracelet options; especially rubber for the sub.

Good point and observation on the DJ 36, I didn't notice (or forgot there was a new DJ36 , I just compared it and the slimmer lugs/hour markers look great along with the newer movement. I can see them doing these updates across the line.

They should make a GMT MASTER II with red and blue bezel, the one aficionados and collectors typically refer to as "Pepsi"

A few that come to mind:-

Cerachrom Bezel on TT Daytona Offerings (this may help shift demand on the SS models)
Everose Rolesor Daytona
Arabic and additional Roman Dials on DJ41
Calibre 3235 on all Sub Dates and YM1's
Calibre 3285 on all GMT's that don't have it yet
Jubilee bracelet for CHNR
Updated movement for Sub C and OP39 (perhaps Milgauss and AK too)

I hope we dont get anything new for a couple years

Rolex doesnt have to release something new every year

If you really want something, then ask for it to be made custom by Rolex

A few things that are pretty certain (has to be).
  1. The updated DJ case with slimmer lugs, now available on SS watches.
  2. Updated movement in other SS GMTs/Subs

Something new and exciting in SS would be great. Anything to marginally help my wait time for the SS BLRO is a positive in my book!

The watch community will go crazy if they actually do a SS Smurf (a "wish list" speculation that has been floated around frequently here). I use to think the "let's see a ceramic bezel on an Explorer II" was a credible idea as well. The more time has passed the less likely I think that would happen though. I think they're actually smart for not doing it since it means there is some non-ceramic bezel SS models in their professional line-up. Not everyone loves the sportiness of a ceramic bezel.

The double baton dial in the OP36 is a keeper in my opinion. I don’t like the dots at the end of the stick marker in the OP39 or 34.
Do I dare wish for a different dial color for the Sub? Might be sacrilegious to some.

What's the difference what comes out? People are still waiting for a Daytona from 3 years ago. Anything new will have a huge waitlist and I doubt that will ease demand on the SkyD, BLNR, SS Daytona, SD43, etc etc.

My hope for Basel is they announce increased production and availability of current models.

I would like to see an alligator strap with Rolex end links and a deployant clasp for the DJ41.
