Sky Dweller SS too big ?

I've been going back and forth on whether I should pull the trigger on the stainless Sky Dweller. All my watches are under 41mm. My biggest wearing piece is a Sub C date. I'm wondering how much bigger the Dweller would wear compared to my maxi case Sub. Tried one on once, felt good for the little while I had it on. Would like to know how it wears long term.

Sub c , datejust 41, explorer 39mm, omega seamaster

I very much like my blue dial version. It wears big, but that mean great visibility! IMO, I would go for it if you have nothing like it in your collection.

What is your wrist size? Mine only 6.5” and it look very big on me. I love everything about SkyD but I believe you need at least 7” wrist to make it somewhat proportionate.

Sky-D is a large 42 IMO. They are styled sleekly but still thicker than the 42mm Explorer II. I find it to be the perfect watch. But if 40mm suits you perfectly, it may be on the large side.

It's a substantial watch, but wears beautifully.

My wrist is ~6.75” and I think my SkyD looks fine, but anything smaller may be too big.

If you can wear the modern Sub no problem you might find the Sky dweller fine.
In comparison to a Sub the thickness and lug to lug dimensions are only 1 mm greater for the SkyD

Check out this review he does a great job with the measurements and his wrist is fairly small, he mentions his wrist size in the video

It's all in the eyes of the beholder! If you like fitment, that's all that matters.

Well, there isn't an SS Sky Dweller, fwiw; it's Rolesor.

I felt it was too large for me and it had nothing to do with "class." Curious as to whether others would keep a watch they felt was too big for them just because it is popular. Seems like the opposite of "class" to me.

I passed on one purely due to size.
When I got to the AD and tried it on, it felt too big compared to my BLNR daily wearer.

I tried one on and love the watch, but decided against it as it was too big on my 6.75 inch wrist. It is very annoying having a small wrist! I hope Rolex releases some 38mm watches as I would go for them!

Rolex is late to the party with the huge watches, in my opinion. The trend is to go smaller now.

If you are worried it is too big then it will most likely always feel to big to you.

I think the Sky-Dweller is a great watch and I own a YG and a SS model. They are on the larger side for Rolex and really stand out. With that said the key for me with larger watches is to get them sized appropriately. If you go to an AD and try the watch on it will not work because the bracelet is not right. Get the Sky-Dweller sized and try. I think it will work.

Size is a concern of mine, too, TBH. A lot of my attraction to a watch is how it feels and looks on the wrist...the Sky looks like it would be at the outer edges of what I would feel comfortable with.

But...at the rate they're making an appearance at my AD, it's kind of a moot point.

It’s large no doubt. I have 6.5 and the lug2lug works but it’s got mad presence. I’d make an exception for this watch it’s so great. Agree 7+ is probably best

I always appreciated what Stanley Marcus (of Neiman-Marcus) said about their store's obligation to the customer. He said that it was more important to tell a customer when something didn't look good on them then to say it did just to sell it.

In keeping with that concept of integrity, as much as I love the SkyD, IMHO, it frequently looks too big on very small wrists. Very similar to the Explorer II 42, one of my favorite watch faces of all time.

If you're questioning it yourself, don't anguish over it. Get something you love...
