Nice review, the Polar was my second choice if I had not gotten a BLNR.

Nice review.

Love the all brushed bracelet... this should be a factory option on all Rolex models.

I've had a Submariner for over 30 years, and an Explorer-II for almost 20 years.....
My OCD has been on fire since the 42mm Explorer-II came out.....
I justify it in my mind by thinking I'll give my Sub & Ex to my twin daughters in their 30's.

BUT!

Here's the difference.....(for 8-grand)....I'll probaby buy it in Switzerland in October.....They will sell me the extra links on the spot vs. US dealers ordering them....
The 42mm will definitely NOT be too large for my wrist...

Great review and great watch. Have been wearing mine for three weeks straight and love it. The 42mm size definitely grows on you. Only problem is that my other vintage Rolexes now look small in comparison.

I wore 40mm Subs and Ex-2's the past 30-some years....
Now that I have the 42mm Explorer-II I will NEVER wear anything smaller.
I have 8-inch+ wrists however.....

I thought I would add a Black-Ex2 to go with my White one...... but I spoke with my AD yesterday and told her I simply want ANOTHER White one!

Great review. Very personal, insightful and descriptive.

I will have to get to an AD and try one on.

Very well written review, thank you! I have had the GMT ll on my radar since my wife gave me my first and only Rolex (TT 16613 Sub) for our anniversary back in 2005. Since then, I have been researching "Omega GMT vs Rolex GMT", which eventually brought me to this thread. Now, after reading your thread and member replies, I will be researching and taking a closer look at the Explorer ll.
Thank you again!

Nice review. Waiting on my Sub 114060 but the REII in polar white seems to be the perfect compliment!

Argg...

Thanks for the review! Thinking about flipping my 1675 for one... just not quite sure about it yet. Tried a polar on a while back and liked it, but your review of the black was so poetic!

Liked the comment about the black on black sports watches above. Kinda wondering if steve (toomuchtalk ) prefers the black or white dial for visibility in the snow...
