1655 with Jubilee bracelet

Was the 1655 ever offered with the Jubilee bracelet? If I'm going for this look, which Jubilee and endlink with fit the 1655 case? Thanks!

No, oyster only, as for the end links, don't know.

Being a unique case size there shouldn't fit anything like a glove, but sure something will with a bit of gap.

It's slightly different in terms of thickness.

but close enough to fit end-links and bracelet, I'd imagine... Subs and GMTs both were supplied on 7206, for example.

You are correct, many people have " swapped " cases from 1675s to 1655s in order to dupe people, i know of one, which, when sent to Rolex for a service, was refused on those grounds, and the owner was in his words " lucky to get his watch back ".

ps. He had bought the watch in good faith.

Mine came on a 62510 with 550 endlinks because the original owner did not like folded bracelets!

"D" link Jubilee is model number 62510H and end links would be 550. The last link would be stamped 50 and there are a total of 22 links plus the end links. Expect to pay anywhere from $1300-$1600 for a decent 62510H 50/550 bracelet.

The 62510H predecessor will also work which is a Swiss made 6251 Jubilee with open or rolled links. End links are 50 with the bracelet having a total of 22 links plus end links.

The USA oval-link bracelet will also work with 20mm end links. (The end links do not have a number except for some of the early ones which can be found with 50 stamped on the left ear of the end link.) This bracelet also has 22 links.

mine came with a jubilee with the period correct date stamp and 550 ends i believe. The single owner i bought it from said that was how it was displayed. I think the 50 stamps on the jubilees came a little after the mid 80s when the 1655s were last sold if i recall correctly. The bracelet was in pieces when i bought the watch. had to go back to MYoung for repair. The guy wore the sh*t out of it. It was original to the watch.

So given that the AD would do whatever they wanted and we always try to put Rolex in a rule box, i would say that yes, you could get it with a jubilee as well as an oyster. No problem. Drives the rules guys crazy but it did occur back then. Mine is proof of it. Mine is a 6MM serial i believe.

The Jubilee 62510H 50/550 was being used long before the mid 1980s.

I have a G1 stamp 62510H 50/550 with no meaningful stretch (recently restored by rolliworks) that i was thinking of selling, but thought worth more like 2,000 (flames on)...

1655 is noticeably thicker than the 1675....I have owned multiples of both....not to hijack the thread but is that considered a service bezel???

I'd like to see more photos, but I would say Mk 4 bezel. The loops in the 6s are more elongated in the service bezel IMO.

I’ve seen plenty of original 1655s come with a jubilee. Back in the day, you had your options of which bracelet you wanted and the bracelet wouldn’t actually be paired with the watch many times until the sale. Especially with 1655s which were not very popular at the time and sat in stores sometimes for several years, the bracelet date code will more often match the date of sale, not the date of watch production. I’ve seen a 1978 1655 with papers that show the date of sale in 1982 and had a G clasp code.

To make a long story short, a 1655 is totally fine on a jubilee. I think it actually looks great and want to get one for mine as well to switch out every so often.
