Personally I think that's wrong of the store to let you try it on

The owner of said watch should have been able to cut the seal etc, and no its fresh etc

Just my opinion

My AD showed me a clients 5740 as well. But sealed and said the same thing you just did. They want the client to open it himself.

Maybe Ninja is just playing humble and it’s really his.

Lol. The thing was cut. He didnt cut it for me FYi. I think the store owner had the watch in the store for awhile. Probably just waited for the right customer. Cool guy. Im sure his clients are pretty cool with it...i get the sense the store owner has great relationships with his clients. So im sure this was kosher.

If it was my watch i would have 10 incomings. Then i would say its my daughters just to piss people off lol.

... Hey I’m with you Idc about the whole cutting the seal. As long as it’s brand new not scratched.
Nothing’s worse than when I picked up my 5980R from WoS in NYC.

I’m trying to give away my dog. She comes with her RM030 if you’re interested.
She poops all over the house. Wife almost put her in the oven out of anger.

Does the replaced link have a slightly different shine from the other links on your gold piece?

Similar experience in steel. My Patek Service Center warned one polished link might shine a little different than the rest despite following the same process as in Geneva. The result is influenced by the state of wear of the abrasive and you could see a difference afterwards. Then I had a new link ordered from Geneva. Looks good but still ever so slightly different in certain light, prob invisible to anybody w/o the background though.

I didn’t polish the scratched link. The new link is still sealed. It would be foolish of me to use the new one; still wayyyytoo early lol.

However I do know polish watches shine differently than non polished.

Thx - if you ever open it you may find that your still sealed link also shines differently as the abrasive used for making the links in Geneva also changes over time before being replaced.
