Is a old thread and great review. Despite my 5146G and other posts on the matter I still love this 5205R-010. Wish you could hire watches for a week and see how they fit into your lifestyle. I prefer date Windows now a days but the legibility s an issue for many on the forum. Also the thickness as I am in a suit 5 days a week. My AD is taunting me with BNIB at $34000. Any 5205R-010 with an unbiased opinion?

Wow, that is a really good price for the black dial 5205R. I almost bought one last year. My only reservation was the way it sat on my wrist.

Which is why I am trying not to be tempted by price! And it's difficult to resist!

Thanks for the informative review on this lovely watch! I lusted over the light gray version but sadly when I tried it on for the first time I felt it wore a bit small for my taste. I'm definitely still drawn to it and plan on giving it another try in the future.

Nice review , without a shadow of a doubt the 5205R black dial is my favorite of all the versions for the 5205R. Its modern and very dressy watch, white gold dresses down better in general, but when you see this watch, who cares you want to break all the rules !

You know i love this watch, I had it before.... its sick

Terrific review! Thank you. I agree that this is a beautiful watch. I do find that the time can be somewhat difficult to read, with the shiny rose hands and the shiny black dial. I like the half-frosted hands that JLC used for some of it's older watches for their legibility. I'm not sure how they would work with the 5205R.

I think this watch works great on a deployant - assuming you have the correct sizing on the strap. Deployants with standard straps do not usually fit me well. I also agree that a strap that is a little less shiny/formal can work great on this watch.

Very nice, and again, thank you for taking the time to review this 5205.
