you only get three...

I'm a little bored so thought I would throw this out.

You can only have three PP watches in your collection, don't name something crazy unattainable or record setting auction like...but feel free to dream away... for extra points add why.

1) 5970P - to represent the classic perpetual calendar chrono heritage that to me is the hallmark of the brand. the perfect balance between the 3970 and 5270 series.

2) 5711 - THE classic modern Patek. there is a reason it is in such demand.

3) 5370P - grand feu, split second, a modern masterpiece in my view.

1. 5227 - Classic Patek Philippe
2. 5711 - Classic Sport PP
3. 5270P - It is just beautiful with PC and chronograph.

3- 5711: classic sports watch

5711 - my favorite sport watch across all brands. Classic, elegant and slim;
5270p - that salmon, oh that dial;
5089G-089 - nothing beats a work of art and a mechanical watch in the same package.

5711 and 5740 are what I have now. Not sure the 3rd one I should get.

As I already own a 5711, so I will pick three others:

5522a: I love it’s simplicity: it’s size, colors, function are perfect for me.

5712a: my favorite Nautilus after the 5711, i appreciate the asymmetry of the dial.

5167a: A sportier change of pace with lower key look and feel, while retaining elegance.

I have omitted any dressier or complicated PP’s as the don’t fit my current needs or lifestyle.

5167A - just the context of Patek launching the Aquanaut back in 1997 - a new watch with rubber strap. Quite heretic back then but look where we are.
5370P - modern split seconds chronograph... I love chronographs, and this I think is a Patek classic.
5140P - A perpetual calendar for the collection. I like the 5140 case size more than the 3940 and 5327. 3940 is more collectible though.

Also, these three give me good diversity of amazing Patek movements. 324, 240 and CH-29!

5740G - best all rounder, elegant and yet sporty, i can stare at the dial all day
5980/1R - big boy heavy hitter; the manliest patek available atm
5370P-011 - most understated and playful everyday watch

1. 5712/1A - Original Nautilus proportions with a twist and the legendary cal. 240 "micro rotor" movement
2. 5164A - Best all-round daily and travel watch in the Patek range
3. 5370P - Grail watch and one of the best Patek references released during the last 20 years

Two down and one to go!

I am in the process of narrowing down to these 3:

5168g
5070r
5124j

Which cover almost all circumstances and work on my big wrist. I do have an SD50 and a Deepsea for real tool watch uses.

5204/1r - mesmerizing.
5531r - enamel plus minute repeater. A great combo.
5961r - love the diamond baguette with a classic look of 5960

All of them are in current production.

5167a love the steel aquanaut and his the number 1 on my list to get within the next months
5172g great looking watch but sadly more than I’m willing to spend on one.
6102r i absolutely love the dial as it looks so cool and unique. If I won lottery I’d buy this in a second.

1. 5004R. Split second chrono, moonphase, perpetual calendar, with a nod to the 1518/2499 aesthetic? I mean c'mon, what more could you ask for.

2. 5711. It's all in the dial. I actually don't even care for the case shape but good God that dial is breathtaking.

3. 5196P. A nod to the vintage 570 Calatrava. If only it came with a sapphire caseback.

1. 5078P - PP is definitely the best at minute repeaters, love the simplicity and classic nature of the MR-only configuration (no need to tack on a PC or tourbillon).

2. 5231J - My favourite map view on the enamel WTs, and I am a fan of the newer case geometry and the "Patek Philippe" being moved to the dial.

3. 5740/1G - PC, WG and Nautilus, what more can I say?

1. 5990 - because I'm madly in love with this watch. LOL. It is beautiful. It's big (the right size big). It has all of the useful complications to me. And really, there is nothing I don't love about it.

2. 5711 - because it's iconic, beautiful, and timeless piece.

3. 5370P - stunning, dressy, and simply amazing watch that I could wear with a suit or to a nice dinner with misses.

But if I absolutely HAD to only pick one, I'd go for the 5990. Serious love that watch.

3970, 5711 and a minute repeater (dreaming of course but dreams do come true).
