History of the Patek Philippe Nautilus

In my constant quest for learning, I came across this article on History of Patek Philippe Nautilus, and thought I'd share here. Good read on all the different models from its inception in 1976.

List of my favorites:
1. 5711 - love the subtle updates from original 3700 model
2. 5990 - I don't know what to not love about this watch. It's aesthetically beautiful, appropriately proportional, has the right complications, and just a stunning watch all around. If it came down to just one watch, this would be it for me.
3. 5796 - The 40th anniversary release is just stunning!!!

Thanks for sharing. There was a typo in the article. The 40th anniversary should be 5976 instead of 5796.

I too thank you for posting the link. Fascinating story. I was not aware of the cosmetic adjustments to the 3711 to turn it into the 5711. From 42 mm to 43 mm! And shifting a ID higher from just above center! Seismic events. Reading it made me wonder if there was as much hand-wringing and acrimony in the press and forums then as there have been for the latest adjustments in the Sub line. I do admire that case, but have been led to believe that it and its bracelet are quite vulnerable to scratches.
