Rolex 16014 time setting issue

I just received a Rolex 16014 which I bought from a reputable dealer. However when I wind the crown clockwise to set the time the hands move backwards rather than forwards.

This is contrasted to all of my other Rolex watches, where the hands move forwards when I wind the crown clockwise.

Does the 16014 wind the opposite direction to set the time, or is it otherwise possible that it is legitimate, but something has been set wrong with the watch?

You are in Australia, its like the toilet water that flows in the opposite direction down there. HeHe.

In all seriousness though, If its an older 16014 then it should be a cal. 3035 which would be counterclockwise.

If it is newer and has a cal. 3135 then it would be clockwise.

What year is the watch? or what are the first 3 digits of the serial number?

In all seriousness, Rolex has movements that wind clockwise and other movements that wind counter clockwise
Thank you. I was a bit concerned there for a moment. My 14060, 16710, 16613 and 116610LV all move the hands forward when you wind the crown clockwise. However I have just looked up the movement in the 16014 (cal 3035) and apparently this movement sets the opposite direction to the cal 3135 in my 16613.

3135 came out in 1988. The only way to know what you have in there is to open up the back and take a look

Did the 16014 ever come with the cal 3135? My understanding was that the 16014 only came with the cal 3035, and when the Cal 3135 was introduced in 1988 the 16014 was discontinued.

Never even noticed this. If I wind my Sub C crown clockwise, the hands go forward. If I wind my Tudor Black Bay crown clockwise, the hands go backward. Both bought brand new from AD.

Mind blown.

Seems the direction depends on the movement.
