Patek on TV

I see Rolex watches prominently displayed on television fairly regularly, and by that I mean, the actor checks the time and there is a close up of the watch showing it is a Rolex. I rarely see the actor checking the time and the close up indicating his (or her) watch is a Patek. I was catching up on a show called Prodigal Son the other night when the star looked at his watch and there it was full screen--a Patek Philippe. Did anyone else happen to see this?

I realize there are far more important posts than this on the forum. I just wanted to note having seen this "rarity".

They have been mentioned on billions and Dynasty, both times it looked like product placement.

In UK I see TV adverts for Watchfinder all the time now, makes it look like they are bigger than any legit watch firms.

Patek was mentioned in multiple episodes on Succession on HBO. Seems like many of the main characters were wearing Rolex but Logan Roy (big boss) was gifted a Patek by his kids on the first episode for his birthday.

FYI, Patek does not do product placements or use paid celebrities.

I question that John. Clearly looked like placement on both billions and succession. Watch them for yourself but they go out of their way to mention brand and there is always a corny box presentation. I think they did it first on sopranos later seasons to be honest.

I also recall Tony, from the Sopranos, gifting a Patek Philippe and it was clearly intentional marketing. Even he couldn't get a Nautilus from the AD lol.

another giveaway that its product placement is they always pronounce it perfectly...

Tony went around calling his johnson his braciola but enunciates perfectly all of a sudden when it comes to watches.

Yup, product placement. Patek also did one with the Sopranos. Of course the world enjoys Formula 1 and golfing, so Rolex is still King

I’m getting a lot of sponsored Patek posts on instagram, they are promoting the brand in tons of magazines, I’ve even seen adverts on bus stops!

Patek has always graced the covers of your favorite in-flight magazine.

Who will ever forget Daniel Craig's Omeeega in Casino Royale. I say it with a soft e and won't ever say it with that elongation now.

Maybe the show runners know how cheesy these forums are when it comes to the AD experience and box and papers. Seriously tho in succession the presentation of the patek is blown off by Logan and he never wears it - and the line is “it tells you how rich you are when you look at it” - Logan and Kendal wear Vacheron’s though-out the second season...

I know the scene and would bet a stack it’s still product placement. TV shows don’t go out of their way to use brands unless paid to do so.
