Buyer's remorse? Thanks, Mfer!
Recently bought a 244. I really like it as an individual piece but I also have a 310. They look kinda similar.
Before the 244 arrived, I posted an incoming PAM thread and a number of members guessed at what it would be. Well, our much respected Mfer aka Mik had guessed that it was a RAD. The thought of owning a RAD never crossed my mind before but I did remember that RAD's can come in 42mm. So I recently took a look at them. The 337 caught my eye as it has a sandwich dial, which you can't get in a 40mm Luminor, and it has an exhibition case back with in-house movement, also something you can't get in a 40mm Luminor. The "OP" on the crown is also cool and I've never owned a hand-wound watch before. I just tried a 42mm RAD at the local AD and I loved the look and size. Now I'm kinda regretting getting the 244 as it looks very similar to what I already had. But I don't plan to flip any of my pieces and since I told myself that I would keep it to 1 piece per year, I'm gonna lust after this RAD for awhile. Here's a good review of the 337: http://indepth.watchprosite.com/show...ost/ti-692702/ So Thanks, Mfer, for being a bad influence!

Ha! Variety is the spice of life. Those two you have are plenty different.
This is a good variety to me! Please do look at 210/183. I know they are 45mm, but they are thin and really do wear small. On an oem gator, they wear even smaller. A test drive won't hurt anything!

As a former owner of a 338, I do understand the appeal of 42mm rads. I ultimately, sold it to get a 190 (a grail for me). Here's a shot of my former 338.

For anyone used to 44mm luminors, the 42mm dial will likely feel small. That was my experience at least.

I've just bought a 141, to replace my 287.
The 141 is a grail for me for a lot of reasons. For those wondering, it is a 42mm, auto with date, fitted with a Xenith movement, applied indices with lume. I've never seen a 42mm in the metal either, don't think I'll be disappointed. Also have a 210 which will score the gold hands treatment in a couple of weeks. Along with the 141 that will round out my Radiomir collection. Well, except for straps to suit the 141... |
