Softest most supple strap
I'm looking for an extra soft 24/24 black leather strap for my 177. I've tried a number of strap makers and my favorite so far is the CU29 strap from Vintager. However (as the name suggests) it's a copper color. I have several black straps from different manufacturers that are stiffer that I prefer.
Looking for suggestions. Thanks L |

The OEM Black Vintage Calf is very very soft and wears like a dream...

If you don't mind brown, assolutamente is the way to go.

I'm a big OEM fan... and of those in my collection, the vintage calf if very soft, the tunnel strap from the 233 also very soft (but thin) and surprisingly the JV strap is very soft too. Of the aftermarket straps, I have a very soft Mario Paci calf strap (not the waterproof version) but quality is so so.

Straps from Panerai is probably the softest in my opinion ;-)
Though a friend complains for being too soft for his liking ;-p Each to his own I guess

I too have a Mario Paci, distressed vintage Ostrich, it is the softest most supple strap I own AND it's 5mm thick!
It took about a week of wearing for it to soften fully, now it is beautifl, it was merely great when I bought it (new and unworn) from another member here. Quality on mine is great for the money. |
