Incoming v5

Just received the Seiko GS 9F86 today. Will need to size the bracelet when I get home, but was able to get a wrist shot and a few others to share.

First impressions?
- Quality is GS at its best, incredible feel and details
- The dial is gorgeous and memorizing, it loves playing with the light, but the case and bracelet SS textures recategorize into tool watch territory
- Love the tech, especially this very special quartz movement (best on the market), 10 seconds per year!
- It is worth every penny and more
- Love the GMT complication, delish
- 39mm, looks and feel more like 40mm plus but not in your face
- A gem worth collecting

Can’t wait to size this beauty and wear it in good health.

Congrats! True beauty indeed and though opinions may differ, I like the technical aspects as well (all the way down to the fact that the second hand starts jumping in two seconds increments once the battery will run low). I am personally still on the fence, but have a feeling that my resistance won’t last long. Wear in good health and enjoy!

Congratulations. Being always set and ready to go, my 9F SBGT235 has probably had more wrist time than any other over the last couple of years.

Great watch, Adam!

I have a feeling this watch will end up being exactly being that.

Agree---I love that feature as well. I have no qualms about quartz and I'm also very fond of the Oysterquartz. That's been on my list for some time and it's too bad the prices really shot up on those. Had the chance to pick a minty one up a few years ago for a great price. Kicking myself.

This watch is striking and photos really don't do this one justice.

One benefit of 9F over Oyserquartz is that it may never need a service in your lifetime (GS suggests 50 years can be expected), whereas the OQ is a potential money pit in that regard.

The sparkle in the sun off the hands and markers is truly exceptional.

The markers are good, but the hands are a little light. It is about surface area. More lume in the hands would probably compromise the elegance. I’m happy with it as is.

That said, like most others, waking in the middle of the night or early morning when your eyes are dark adjusted, all features are legible.

Thanks! Definitely wouldn’t want to take away from the beauty of those markers/hands.

Gorgeous watch in near perfect sports watch dimensions. The quartz and the GMT ain't really required for me but my resistance may weaken yet.

If they could use this case as a template for a spring drive skin diver, I'd be dowwwwwn.

Really been warming to the idea of a GS quartz. Been eyeing this as well as the SBGV245. On the mechanical side it’s the spring drive SBGA283 and the BB58. One of these will likely be my next “luxury” watch.

Many congratulations, it looks fabulous. It wasn't on my radar until a couple of days ago. It is now.

Wear that beauty in the very best of health.

Very nice! There was a post on the Rolex side a few days ago asking what the best
looking GMT is. I would say this is it.

What’s truly incredible about the complication (and maybe I’m going crazy), but it’s incredibly quiet. Almost completely silent.
