Omega 2500 movement issue?
I have a PO with a 2500 and about a month ago it stopped all of the sudden, it;s my daily driver so it was wound.
I played with it a while and I could get it to start for a few seconds and then stop again, it was Saturday afternoon so I took it off and decided to take it to Omega on Monday. To my surprise on Sunday afternoon I noticed that it had started back on its own and it hasn't stopped since. Om Friday the same thing happened to a coworker that has a similar watch but he's restarted a few hours later. What gives?

Same damn thing happened to mine. I would wind it and it would run for a few seconds and stop. Then out of nowhere minutes later it would start up on it's own or if I started to wind it it would run like nothing ever happened.
I'm thinking it's a mainspring issue but not really sure. Please keep us posted. I'm traveling around a lot so it's difficult to turn it in for servicing so I'm curious to what the issue is. |

I had that problem once and when I took it for servicing at Omega Tokyo (Ginza boutique), they told me it was magnetized...

Mine was bought in 09, my wife is using it in Argentina but my papers and box is in storage in the US. Not sure what model I have.
Magnetizing is quite possible. Would high frequency radio jammers and helicopters affect the movement in a magnetic way. I'm thinking the former may. |

Today it lost 2 hours, so I called the service center, 2 months turnaround for a service.
The guy on the phone treated me like I was a 6 year old and explained to me that automatic watches do stop if you don't wear them!!!! And argued that their watches almost never fail so it must be something I did to it, right off the bat terrible customer service. More to come...
