That’s epic! I feel like between rounds they should be required to shotgun tall boys; first one to puke, get knocked out, or fall out of the ring loses.

I'd be very okay with ESPN just flat out saying "folks we're gonna go ahead and shutdown for the summer until the season starts for most sports" rather than create desperate content. Or at least create a separate spinoff channel for wild content.

That said, I'm impressed at the physique of these guys and happy for the athletes to have a way to get paid for entertaining others.

Well you do have knife/axe throwing, and cornhole, and pickle ball to look forward to seeing on ESPN

Why? Is it better when you put the pillow on your hand but replace the textile with leather, to call that sport as box?

I thought all televised pillow fights were, by FCC edict, supposed to be between multiples of young, attractive coeds.

That would solve most problems with this abomination.

My better half and I were just talking about the PFC and she told me she participated in a world record attempt for the largest pillow fight in Korea. My first question was “Were you wearing sexy lingerie?”

I started watching as a kid in the early 80's and SportsCenter with Dan Patrick, Chris Berman et al was great and must watch TV. Fast forward and aside from Formula 1, I haven't watched in many, many years. I'm stuck in a hotel room channel surfing and couldn't believe how low the content has become. This is what they are showing now on ESPN and ESPN 2, their two biggest channels:

- Basketball with trampolines.
- Low level basketball with plumbers and carpenters who are out of shape
- Crossfit gym workouts and interviewing contestants
- Something called Slippery Stairs where 10 year olds slide down a greased staircase while other kids throw rubber balls at them
- Corn Hole
- Dodge Ball
- Pillow fighting

The NY Times had a recent article that said ESPN used to be the cash cow for Disney, but now it's their problem child. They've laid off a ton of on air talent and Disney is looking to unload the company.

What a sad shell of its former self...

The fact that a farcical channel that was created by a movies creative writers to mock a networks content and ubiquitous coverage, to then have that same mocked network pick it and run with it is a little funny but really its just sad... LOL

I don’t know how it’s possible to destroy a brand like ESPN, but Disney somehow was able to do that.

A couple months ago, I read Disney lost almost a billion dollars within the last year on movie flops. That was before Indiana Jones 5, which might go down in history as the biggest money loser in the history of Hollywood.

Haunted Mansion was released by Disney this weekend. It cost close to $200 million to produce. Since theaters take almost half the cut, it needs to make around $400 million to break even. There is no possibility of it coming close to that.

Also, Disney streaming business is bleeding billions in losses. The attendance for their parks is down. They also lost close to $100 billion in market capitalization over the last year. Finally, they’re contractually obligated to give Comcast approximately $20+ billion in cash for Hulu in 2024.

Pretty soon, all these financial losses are going to add up.

I live an hour and 15 mins from Disney World. It’s really sad to see such an iconic brand like Disney go down the tubes.

Speaking of rednecks.... the number 2 spectator sport in the US is NASCAR, which got it roots in good old boys running moonshine in North Carolina (see Junior Johnson) and building cars to outrun the "revenue agents" who took a dim view of the illegal liquor running business going on the the South.
