How do you feel about the new calibre? I love everything about the new 15550st except the calibre, I kinda like the old one in 15450st more.

I like that the movement was updated so you get the 60 hour power reserve but case is also thinner now. My largest issue with the 15450 is the proportions. Felt it was a but chunky. After owning the jumbo with its svelte case, the 37mm felt a bit cumbersome. The 15550 strikes a nice balance.

Yea they do wear bigger. This sizing works well up to 7.5" wrist measurement. My perfect fit is 36mm which is why I love the vintage ROs as well.

Got the call! New 15550 in the metal

The new movement are based from Vaucher 5900 calibre which is similar to 5800 in 34mm 77350st.

The decoration and rotor doesnt look as elegant as the other in-house movement from the AP, including the previous one in 15450st.

But you do get more power reserve, modern movement, and slimmer profile.

The first release photos from AP didnt even have back case photos. Even now on their website still no official photos.

They did increase the price for like 4 times a year but somehow manage to cut cost on the calibre...

I don't how much they do or don't save by buying the movements from Vaucher vs producing them in-house, but I suspect that a much stronger motivation is the desire to (slowly) increase production, where one could reasonably expect movement production to be the limiting factor. Being able to sell a few thousand more watches makes a bigger dent than saving a few CHF on some of the movements.

Congratulations. Absolutely stunning. Love the shade of blue. I love my 15450 blue but it can be a bit dark and almost look black in certain lighting

I've tried on the light blue one in the store, but I could not manage to tell the time whenever there was some light ... so I put my name down for the white dial version.

Still a lovely colour, it looks absolutely fabulous!

If you could only have one, would you rather have the blue or the ice blue?
