Which one to sell for an AP ?
Hi all,
I have the opportunity to acquire a 15500ST from a friend who urgently needs to get rid of it, used full set and perfect condition, below the coast. To help me, I have to sell a watch. I am attached to all of them, each having been severely studied and desired, now attached to a story or events. The one I wear the least is the BLRO, and this is the one I plan to wind up. The bezel tires me a bit when wearing it, sometimes a bit like clowning, and the strap, although comfortable, is not in what I prefer about Rolex and in my spirit, namely the Oyster. The others that are not of the crown brand I wish to keep. I seem to have made my choice. You, what would you do? 16550? 116600? 126710? Also, isn't AP too show-off? The friend tells me it's a bit of a mirror ball despite being all steel. Is this really a good idea?

It’s actually very reflective that’s true.
But I’d keep the Pepsi and get rid of the explorer and SD Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Personally, I wouldn’t get rid of the BLRO. However, if that is the piece that sings to you least I would get rid of it - values are in your favor.

Sounds like you don't care for the BLRO and it is a solid sale for close to the money you need.

Get rid of whatever you don’t like to wear. As that piece will always struggle to get happy wrist time.
AP is gorgeous

If you aren’t wearing the BLRO it can go. Still in production and readily available vs the other Rolexes. The Rolex is nice but the AP is an AP. It’s worth moving up.

I know AP is supposed to be a step up. To me they just look outdated, so i chose none. Never much of a hype follower anyway

I never owned the BLRO but I felt the same way when I tried it on. Just because the marketplace says it’s the hottest watch and the watch you should want doesn’t mean it’s the watch that’s right for you. Agree with selling high on the BLRO.

I would get rid of the Pepsi for the exact same reasons as you. Too colorful bezel which gets boring fast. I am old school that watches should be seen but not heard. A lot of people love it, give it a new home to one of them.

I have the Pepsi and the 15500. Honestly, between the two, Pepsi is my favorite
I would get rid of the Explorer and SD then add a diver (sub) later

I am surprised to see that the SD is winning the votes for the moment. I must say that for me it would be almost heartbreaking. The new 43mm format is too wide and thick for me, this one in 40 is on the contrary better proportioned. No cyclops, so a little under the radar. Its characteristics, including a huge waterproofness, are truly the pinnacle of the brand. I love it. I think I'm not ready and shouldn't even have offered her as a choice.

Based on the condition you will regret selling 16550 & SD4k.
These are getting scarce day by day. BLRO will always become available next 20 years. |

I think you know and have made your decision which seems logical and reasonable considering your explanation.

Don't have advice what you should do, but out of the three, I would probably let go of the Pepsi (never been a fan of the colors) and definitely keep the SD4k.
Reg. the 15500 - I have a BLNR and grey 15500. I find that I am much more careful with the 15500 than the BLNR, keeping the AP for special occasions. BLNR is my daily. |

Ap is on a totally different level.
But the Pepsi is one hot watch at the moment and I feel it will always stay that way, you can think of it like pepsi is the new daytona . Screenshot_20201101-184141__01.jpg |

Thanks for opinions.
It is a little incomprehensible for many may be, but I had rushed, pushing by the possibility of having the impossible. And finally, this BLRO did not find anything special in my possession. I think I am tired of this circus bezel. The flip side is that many see it as a grail and a hot watch to be kissed lovingly by the fireside, I will have no trouble selling it quickly..I put it in its low range and it will do it. It allows me to almost double the investment anyway and pay me the Royal Oak. For the AP I see my friend tomorrow evening to try it out anyway and forge the final price. He told me around 25K. Does that sound good to you?

I would let go of the 5 digit.
Don't like hollow links or the clasp vs the 6 digit models. |

Sounds like BLRO for you. Although I'd stretch to add if all are sentimental.

I'd sell the Hulk while prices are red hot, and if you miss it, buy it back when the market softens. You already have another green stunner.
The Pepsi to me is one of Rolex's icons. |

Majority of Rolex people would preferred to keep Pepsi, but Pepsi doesn't sing to you at all, so let it go and you would get more money to fund your new AP too.

And my opinion is that the Hulk's prices are never going to go back. It is the last in historic 40mm format and the one and only LV with a sunburst dial. I see the new one as a black Sub with just a green bezel stuck on it, less personality and interest. Really interested in keeping it, besides, I did not include it in the eventuality of sale, I love this watch, a Submariner apart.

Yes I keep it, it was an idea but you just have to take it out of its box to realize that it is a bad one !
