The new choco dial looks great, congrats! (I have the arabic numerals one)
What's that first leather strap, if you don't mind me asking?

Anyone else found these gold pieces to be exceptionally soft compared to the steel counterparts? They dint and mark for fun compared to even my 23 year old daydate.

Yes gold is softer than steel, so more easily scratched, more easily polished.

This watch works well from shorts / tee shirt to business casual to tuxedo

Hi guys!!

These watches are to me among the best out there right now, I have a GMT Master II in steel and I´m now looking for a Daytona in gold with oysterflex. Can´t decide between the 116510LN or the 116515LN with a lack dial. I have them both on great deals ready to pull the trigger but my mind is messed up!! Just need the extra boost form owners and maybe some pictures.

I am considering the same two variants as the ss doesn’t appeal to me

Tried the everose variant and it looks terrific,
and would be a unique piece, that said it looked very informal to me, hence I am hesitating

What’s your thought process behind the two ?

I tried the rosé gold with the rosé gold dial, not for me!! Felt to "goldie" for me. Now I´m thinking I could wear the WG more than the other because of the stealth. Looks like a steel watch, but then on the other hand the rosé maybe feels a bit more luxurios?! It´s very hard, I would like to try the WG but there is no one to try on.

The rose gold dial has a very nice sunburst effect and it is as casual as its WG variant!

Either way, they are still very versatile Daytona OF!

That's always the advantage of WG, and the same reason I have been looking at it too, if my AD (in Europe) has one to try when I pick up two pieces from service then I will report back, but they did not have the WG to try either (it was right after the holidays though)

WG is the one to get hands down. Super versatile. Subs, GMTs and SS Daytona’s don’t get any wrist time anymore. It’s that good. Longest I’ve gone without a change. And I change A LOT.

First post, so please bear with a newbie. I own a yellow gold Submariner that I bought from the AD on a trip to Monaco last summer and previously a two-tone Sub also that I wish I still had. Sadly, I got away from "real" watches for the last few years because I wore an Apple Watch, but I miss the beauty and feel of wearing true timepieces and I'd like to start collecting watches.

So I think I'm ready to buy a Daytona YG with Oysterflex 116519LN. I'd like to have a watch that I can wear with a sport coat and slacks, which is my everyday work attire -- or on the weekend and at the lake. I don't feel comfortable wearing the YG Sub in more casual settings and it feels pretty flashy. I want a Rolex and it seems like the YG Oysterflex would give me the flexibility and a little more low key.

Here are some questions...
1) I've never tried on a Daytona and nobody local would have one to do so. My wrist is 7.5" circumference. If I'm ok with recent Submariner models, should the Daytona with Oysterflex be ok? I'm not sure how I could even try one on without taking a trip. I do have a May trip to NYC planned, so I could force myself to wait...

2) Where to buy. My local AD, who I'm guessing hasn't sold a lot of Daytonas, said she can get me this watch in 2-3 months. She said the same about a SS Submariner when I asked. I have purchased a couple of Rolexes from them and a fair amount of other jewelry, so we have a nice relationship. But they don't often have the higher end Rolexes in stock, so I'm not sure how valuable furthering the relationship with them would be.

Another option would be to purchase one on Chrono24 from a non-AD that has extremely high ratings everywhere I have checked.

I guess another option would be to find an AD in a larger city and start a relationship with them in hopes of hooking up with a dealer more likely to get these upper end watches in regularly. I have had good discussions with Govberg watches, so that's a possibility.

Any feedback is appreciated!

So is the consensus that these watches come factory with E and F straps or can you custom order with different straps? Trying to order one but my AD is making me wait while a YG DD40 I ordered for my dad arrives first. Thus haven’t tried one in yet or measured up my wrist.

I’m curious to know the answer to this question too. When the OF models arrive at ADs in their coffins, are the straps already attached?

Subscribed. Recently fell in love with the Daytona with white dial (panda). It’s a very handsome watch. The platinum is very nice as well but not the kind of $ I would spend on a watch.

Hi there, I know your AD, I’m in Charlotte. I’ll shoot you a DM.
