SD43 vs VC Overseas

Which one would you choose? Just looking at each watch individually, irrespective of what other watches are in the collection. Both can be had for around the same price used. Curious to hear your thoughts.

SD43 for sure! VC without the chronograph is very boring to me.

Me personally, no question, SD43 all day long. Probably my favorite Rolex.

VC. Nothing special about SD43. Vacheron Constantin, and that cross for the same price as a SD. No brainer.

The SD43 is a nice watch, there's no doubt about that at all. Probably more versatile than the VCO too.

But for me, the VCO is a much nicer watch

VCO.

SD is simply too big and thick for me. VCO is more comfortable to wear.

Overseas.

(SD43 is nice for what it is. But Vacheron Overseas is in another league. And two additional straps in leather and rubber. No brainer.)

Different league, right? VC is high horology, Rolex is not.

However, I choose the SD43 because I value other properties in a sports watch than overall finish and movement decoration.

Had it been Cellini vs. Patrimony I would have picked the latter.

(full disclosure I own the SD43)

VCO in blue, I prefer this blue hue to the PP and AP jumbos in fact.

The brown one. It is discontinued and the whole package looks good. Extra 2 straps for versatility doesn't hurt.

i prefer the sd43, looks more sporty and its the 50th anniversary model. but i may be too naive to appreciate the horology shown on the VC.

It’s a strange comparison in a sense ... one’s arguably a tool watch made for a specific purpose, the other is more of a casual sport watch.

The better comparison would be between a DJ and the VC, albeit price points are further apart.

That said, I’d opt for the VC for wearability and the strap options.

I have yet to see the blue dial here Neil, I’ve had the black on my wrist multiple times and really do like it. The sales associate and I are on a first name basis

I think the VCO in blue is one of the absolute best watches out there sub 20K.
